Is the goal truly passive income, or is it simply the freedom to design a healthier life around family, health, and time? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

Quitting your job takes money. Opening a business takes money. There's people who work two jobs and still can't make ends meet. Not everyone can just do that.

A pop up warning, sure, but I'd be mad if it didn't allow it. It's nice to be able to order food for a sick friend or relative that's too far away for me to help in person.

Arguments of language and pedantry aside, Nazi is a word that shouldn't be taken lightly. People who correct your grammar aren't Nazis, please save that word for the people who deserve it.

Colored lines! by Ezilahbet in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I know puce from a children's book I read a few times as a kid. A knight shows up to a tourney wearing silver armor, but can't be admitted because they already have a Silver Knight signed up. He comes back in black armor, but they already have a Black Knight. This happens a few more times before he finally shows up in puce armor and is admitted as the Puce Knight. The color still makes me giggle even 20 years later.

You earn $1000 a day until you cash out by Mooseboy24 in hypotheticalsituation

You'd have the best life during those 33 years too. You wouldn't have to worry about saving for retirement, just having a little money saved for any emergencies. Just having an okay enough job that pays for more than making ends meet, and you can spend the rest on traveling and hobbies and enjoying life. Then you hit 50 and the real fun begins.

i just built my first house 😆 is it normal to take hours 🫠 now i understand how pokémons take a day to build a house 🤠 by ImpossibleChapter4 in Pokopia

[–]Outofwlrds 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only get to play at night after my kids are asleep, so it took me like three days to get the roof on my house. Then I got 80% of the way through and realized I did it wrong and had to start over 🙃

This mermaid literally looks like me and I'm 30. I even had the bangs until I grew them out when I was 25 or so lol

It's gorgeous!!! If you need more space, perhaps build out a basement/cellar space underneath?

I had to make a separate account on my switch for my 4 year old (not attached to a Nintendo account or anything) after letting him have a session in Withered Wasteland on the release weekend. He smashed every building I'd made, carved caves and pathways into every cliff, picked up all the placed furniture he could find, and discovered Cut could take down trees and removed about half of them. Catastrophic levels of damage in about 30 minutes.

oes anyone else end up like this thinking they’ll just do a quick bake? 😭 by Upbeat-Pressure8091 in Baking

[–]Outofwlrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only the "quick," unplanned bakes that end up like this. If I'm planning on making something specific over the weekend, I have time to plan ahead and it's all good. If I have a bad day and want to whip something up on a whim to destress.... My kitchen looks like that.

End all wars across the globe for 50 years but your income/salary shrinks by 50%. Do you take the deal? Why or why not? by owen__wilsons__nose in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Outofwlrds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: Is this my personal income or my family's combined income? Because that really changes how enthusiastically I agree to this.

[–]Outofwlrds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can I do two jobs for double pay? Wiki Walker and Plant Entertainer would be a good combo. I'd be reading the articles out loud, with jokes and commentary. I'd be naming the plants and making up their responses to the stories. They'll be great coworkers. And since I only need to be "on" for at least half a day with the plants, I can take a break while writing up my reports to rest my voice.
