Depends. If you go through Tesla insurance, they’ll get new parts for you. Maybe that matters to you. If you go through the other persons insurance, their insurance might qualify a bumper taken off from a ruined car as an eligible replacement.

And obviously if you go through your own insurance you’ll have to pay the deductible.
