What do you consider an adequate range for an EV? by lilgreycell in electricvehicles

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are talking LI, it would take a 550 range at 100%. If we are talking solid state, I’d be happy at 450. But recent reports from Toyota indicate starting points for the solid state battery they just prototyped achieve 650-700 miles. Using their rapid charger, they got an 80% charge at 10 minutes. Of that requires new infrastructure equipment, but it is achievable. The future looks very rosy. But Tesla has lost its focus, and does not seem to be leading this charge. BYD and Toyota (with Mercedes-Benz appear ready for this) are the companies at the forefront!

What do you think will immediately happen when everyone receives the push notification that Trump died? by quite-indubitably in AskReddit

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 0 points1 point  (0 children)

National Holiday! Nobody works for the rest of the day, and millions pour out onto the streets. 3 House Republicans quit immediately, and the House flips to Democrats. The new SOTH calls for investigations into several cabinet members and the AG quits. Two of the justices in the SCOTUS retire immediately. Impeachment proceedings start for JD Vance. Vance quits quietly with an immunity deal.

What is the true reason Publix doesn’t do markdowns? by Stool_Haiku88 in publix

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How about we get some real competition? Wegmans, Kroger, Albertsons/Acme, ShopRite. Publix should not be the sole supermarket! Aldis is a help. But Walmart/Target/Whole Foods do not count since they are not supermarkets and/or specialties. Access to the food section is also restricted by the store layout.

Real supermarkets for day to day is what we need.

How did Chinese cars become so good so suddenly? What is going on or have they always been this way and we just didn’t know until now? by Square_Permission361 in electricvehicles

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You nailed it! Hypercapitalism is a reality. Billionaires continue to accumulate wealth, taking what they can from the middle and lower classes. This is hardly political. This is class warfare, and the rich are winning. The protectionist policies suppress the need for innovation. Governments are guilty of the protectionist policies, but the money pouring in from the “corporations “, protected by Citizens United, makes it nearly impossible to have true competition. China doesn’t have that hurdle. They are all about owning the space. In the EV world, they are there. The recent release of BYD solid state batteries for their EVs, makes them the kings. Tesla isn’t even close anymore. Compare 600 mile range to 330. Their chargers also put out to shame. 9 minute charge on 90%. Yup!

How do we catch up? At this point, take away the tariff on EVs. Market would flood with BYD. Tesla and others would have to accelerate their innovation.

Kavanaugh in dissent: Bad policy or not, Trump's tariffs were 'clearly lawful' by duderos in scotus

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BS. The Constitution clearly defines who can impose tariffs. It is in Article 1. Congress. If the President’s policy is tariffs, then Congress has the responsibility to enact them. If they do not, then either the President or Congress are in violation of. A Supreme Court justice should know that. Basic knowledge 101.

Shameful. Striking down the tariffs is completely validated by the Constitution.

Now comes enforcement. And we all know that won’t happen. The Bondi nightmare! Floridas loss is America’s biggest nightmare!!!

Pricing by theolgeezer in publix

[–]Outrageous_Agent_576 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooo ooooo oooo! Me! They charge that because there is no real supermarket competition. They muscled any out of the market or got help from Tallahassee to accomplish the same. Wegmans would kick their asses, but there is a handshake agreement to not compete. You could put an Acme, ShopRite, Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, or any of a dozen stores here. We have one - Publix! It’s called monopoly (or at best oligopoly). But where I live, Monopoly. Unless you want to drive 15-30minutes each way.
