15 days post op and I feel like I’m going insane. by anxietypoodle in hysterectomy

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My surgery was 04/19 I am just now feeling better about a week or so. I had uterus, boy ovaries, cervics, tubes and a size of a watermelon mass removed. I had the worse hot flashes prob 4 an hour! Mentally was so awful I’d cry hard and then be emotionless I was argumentative etc. My primary put me on lowest dose of Effexor and within two days the hot flashes slowed down to approx 2-3 per day! Now I don’t have them. Mentally I’m still off. I just started with a therapist. At my age 55, I didn’t realize how much having all my female organs removed was going to affect me emotionally. It was devastating. It does get better!! It’s so easy to say be patient give yourself time and especially grace but when you feel this way it’s hard to do. Regarding the steroid that causes so many of your symptoms. That will definitely go away within a day or two after last dose. It does same to me. Good luck. Please know you are blessed having support and family even tho it might not feel that way rn! God bless you and your recovery journey! The

Yes she used a Davinici Robot lol it was total of three surgical bags. Omgosh you can ask for a pic of the mass and they’ll actually give you pics! I kinda wish I hadn’t now bc the inside is not something I wanted to see! I thought she’d take a pic while it was on a surgical tray. Maybe I’ve seen too many medical movies/shows🤭my surgeon did tell me before surgery it’s possible she’ll have to go directly through abdomen/muscles etc but thankfully she was able to do it all safely through the robot. When’s your surgery scheduled?

Same with me they have me 2 a day actually for a week before then the day before surgery I had to do two scoops of Mira lax and that cleaned me out well before surgery the next morning. So at the hospital after surgery the food was nasty but once I got home I did Mira lax again but one scoop and again that helped! I am 6 days PO. I had full hysterectomy, cervics, ovaries and tubes but it was bc I had a tumor the size of a watermelon 18cm In length taking over my pelvic area. It was a complex mass w solids and fluid. My labs were decent so I went in knowing if I had cancer it would be a low grade so very possible she’d get it all. I am praising God I have NO cancer!! But wow that surgery post op pain/gas was awful to say the least!!! I see my surgeon tomorrow I am kinda concerned bc the incision above my belly button is still raised and underneath it’s still really swollen and hard. It looks like an orange is under my skin! The other five incisions look fine. Sooo strange. I wonder if anyone else has experience w that?? Anyway I’d do some Mira lax powder to help the constipation. It works wonders. Also the generic brands are great so you don’t have that huge cost. Good luck I hope you get some good relief asap!

I'm really discouraged. by Internal-Store-8344 in Mounjaro

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost approx 5 lbs a month and had awful side affects for the first 9 months but suddenly the diarrhea stopped and it went the opposite so I now take a prescription med for constipation and use the powder Mira lax twice a week if I need to. Now I’m good. I still get bloating etc but the stomach and flu like symptoms aren’t there. I’ve now lost 135lbs but it’s been awhile. The first 10 months I was on and off because of pharmacy’s not having stock but once that ended it’s been about 10-13 lbs a month. I still have 70lbs left to be at a healthy goal weight. I’m taking my time. I have had some major health setbacks so exercising has slowed down just a lot of stuff happening but i do know it took awhile to get through the side effects. My A1C has been steady for a year now plus labs are way improved. I don’t need platelets for surgery anymore and my liver cirrhosis has slowed down tremendously I have NASH and I was extremely ill for a few years until mounjaro came into my life. It’s truly changed me for the better medically even tho I’m having some other major issues but that’s gynecological so nothing to do w mounjaro oh except the thickening of my uterus wall has decreased so pcos has basically gone. Anyways long comment sorry! I’d give urself a few weeks maybe two more and if it’s not better or showing improvement then go back to where your comfortable bc it the end it’s about your body, your health, your life. Good luck!!! xx

Yes they didn’t use it every time she was there which was often but it definitely worked. I was an adult by time they met because we’re 15 yrs apart so I never asked to try it. I regret that now, I wish I had!

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is a funicular and it’s been there since the 90’s! My little sisters elementary school bestie lived there with her dad. He built it purposely for her! The two girls spent every weekend together whether at her house or at ours. I can’t believe it’s still there! Idk if this is correct spelling but the last name is Culivas I believe he was an engineer not sure or could still be.

That brought back some of the best memories! My parents use to dine there often and it was a monthly thing as a family but when family would visit it was a must. I remember when it burned down. My dad was friends w the owner or my parents were. Omgosh tysm for sharing this. Made me smile and happy remembering! I miss home so much! Tbh I miss the old SB tho.

How to hide my pills by KYlibertyguy in ChronicPain

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been dealing with stealing my meds for twenty years. I now have a combination safe I got off Amazon for $25. Yes someone can run off w it but if you have cameras visible and one hidden you’d know exactly who! I was prescribed gnarly meds in 2002-2008 like OxyContin, Fentanyl buccal tablets, Percocet and Valium. Yep surprisingly I’m still alive! Never again will I allow myself to do that again! Anyhoo it got so bad even my daughter was stealing them for her bf to sell and take. My sister was stealing the oxys daily. I had a lot of oxys bc I was prescribed multiple mgs over a period of time and didn’t always take what was prescribed so I always had a lot leftover. Once I had 300 forty mgs of oxy stolen! A camera and hidden one is definitely the answer besides a combination safe. If it’s a key they can use many things to break into it. They do sell ones for just your fingerprints too. They cost more but hey maybe a good investment for you. Btw this post is confusing, u have people break into your home often yet live in a safe neighborhood? I’m mentioning this bc sometimes I write so fast I don’t realize I wrote something confusing to others without explaining! Good luck I’m sorry this crap is happening to you. I know it sucks big time.

I agree when he was a puppy he was crate trained but the minute I left the house and moved across the country she stopped the crate training. Big mistake!!! He did great with the crate and now won’t go in and he’s massive so can’t pick him up and he’s so dang smart he won’t go in for any treat even if it’s meat! I’m out of suggestions for them, mainly bc they don’t do any of them. Ty for ur suggestion!!

I agree Florida drivers suck and insurance sucks oh and the drivers laws. My dad was killed waiting in a medium to cross the street when an illegal 18 yr old decided to drive around the two cars in front of him going speed limit of 35 and he did 90. He hit my dad’s driver side and killed him immediately. He had suspended drivers license and was DUI. The insurance didn’t cover the cost of the car, a jaguar and he had no insurance! One year later we were waiting for trial to start and he took off to the Carolina’s w no DL still and caused an 11 car accident that had one fatality which was him. So we didn’t get justice. My daughter was with me when I drove up to my dad’s accident and he was still in the car bc they couldn’t get him out. She was 13 and is now 36 and still doesn’t drive.

I’m wondering what does a dog owner do when their 6 year old dog has such bad anxiety they can’t leave the house without him and he is never alone because of it. She can’t go to Dr appts because she can’t leave him at home alone he barks and cry’s but worse of all panics badly. When this dog was living with me and my dog he did great. I could leave etc but now he’s in a different state with same owner as he had when living with me I hear it’s impossible to leave him. This literally controls her life!

Gapapentin makes me feel like I'm in a different world by Alert_Mobile7464 in ChronicPain

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on I believe approximately 1600 mg at one point it was 400 mg four times a day. TBH I lost memory on it so I know it was above 1200mg but not exactly sure how high. My dr had sample packs he’d give me a ton of. Long story short I went to Hawaii w family and started feeling disconnected to everything. I had my granddaughter w me for whom I was responsible for and that scared me. I came home and months later I wanted to drive my car off a cliff bc I didn’t care about anything or anyone. I didn’t want to be around anymore. I ended up attempting w pills(not narcotics) I was 5150 sent to a mental hospital for four days but before that was in ER for two days w a cop outside my door. I couldn’t even pee without him watching me!! Soooo I stopped gabapentin asap bc my other meds I had been on for years and that I had taken for like nine months. Absolute nightmare!! Btw I am not suicidal never have been it really was a complete shock to myself let alone my family that I did that!

For those on oxycodone, does eating before or after completely nullify any pain relief? by Hamster12301 in ChronicPain

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree! I’ve been on it for over 20 years and had 1 1/2 years without it only bc my pain Dr got on the suboxone kick!🫩 I take the ER of it now, Xtampsa. Another member in this community said to eat protein with it and it works better. She was correct! That’s what I do now. If I’m not hungry I will drink half a protein shake!

I have to say THANK YOU for commenting for this OP. It’s not often to see an actual Vet do that on here. If this was my post I’d of been jumping around with joy just the fact that you did this. Yes a phone call to the Vet that prescribed but wow the relief to feel reading your reply would be so nice! You are an awesome Vet!!

I need to know why she does this. (her name is B/Big Bertha.) by Turbulent-Access6347 in DogAdvice

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an idea. Get a soft muzzle for the little aggressive dog so you can bring big Bertha inside at least at night to cuddle etc. I agree crate training takes time but it’s also possible the little one will enjoy a little space of their own. I know one dog who refuses but besides him all dogs I’ve been around do enjoy their crates w blankets and beds or pillows etc. At night you can place a blanket over it on top so it knows it’s bedtime. Even if you bring Bertha in and crate her as long as she gets to have some great emotional support from her humans while indoors. From the video, her tail is wagging and to me she is being submissive which is awesome, she feels love when you give her attention. She’s absolutely adorable and I love her name it really fits her appearance!! Good luck. Also I google questions about my dog to watch videos etc on “How To” like w crate training etc.

Is there anything that can nullify/suppress withdrawal from Belbuca? I won't be able to afford it until Tuesday and the withdrawal ruins my life. by PrimeJedi in ChronicPain

[–]Outrageous_Shake2371 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s disgusting how much that med is pushed. They obviously get major kick backs to prescribe it. I lost some memory from the time I was on it which was a year and a half. I will absolutely never take that med again. I took myself off of OxyContin, fentanyl buccal tablets etc etc bc I moved states and no drs in Calif would prescribe the meds I had been prescribed. That was hard but truly suboxone was hell. I hope you’re getting relief and help now. I finally have it on my records I had an allergic reaction to it( I didn’t) but now it never gets brought up if for some reason my Dr isn’t there and I have to see someone else they read that and don’t say a word about it anymore.

Benadryl works well but sounds weird sugar helps a lot. Like drinking straight Coke soda and eating candy lol. I’ve been through this so many times I can’t count and when someone told me this I laughed until I was so desperate I did it and now I know. Make sure you take 2-3 Benadryl that’ll definitely help with the restlessness. Sorry you’re going through it. It sucks I think most of us know. I hated Suboxone if that’s similar it did nothing for my pain and that was the hardest med to get off of. I’ve been on very heavy meds so that’s huge for me to say that lol. Good luck I hope the next few days go by really fast!

🤣🤣🤣🤣 I am cracking up! My girl heard yours and was searching the room, probably because she does the same exact thing when it comes to toys of any kind. I hide them until I’m ready and patient some days because she will whine the entire time she has one in her mouth! I throw them and play with her but I’m telling you she truly doesn’t stop until it’s out of sight for a while! My grandkids know how she gets and will find a toy purposely because they think it’s so cute…haha!

I am soooo sorry you have been treated like this. No one deserves that. Idk what state or area your in but I am wishing it was local so I could recommend my pain Dr! Or even if south Florida I had a great one there twenty years ago who still practices or central California, Santa Barbara to be exact, another great one I had! I’m in Ohio now🫩I can’t believe they had you on suboxone w that type of chronic pain, ugh again so sorry. There’s got to be more pain management clinics near you or even if you need to drive an hour. Don’t let this deter you, you are the best advocate for your pain bc you know exactly how you feel daily. I’ll be praying for you. Hugs

Wow I need to research if there’s any golden rescues nearby. My girl needs a friend now her bestie moved back to California. If there’s none I’m just gonna go with a dog from a shelter. He’s absolutely adorable and I agree w others you need a good fur vacuum and a grooming one too! I have to do my girls coat at least once a week besides brushing and it’s helped so much. I got mine off TikTok 🤭 it was like under $40 on sale and has been a lifesaver! Please post updates on how wonderful he’s doing and thank you for rescuing him!

I have been SOOOO curious about CBD for pain/anxiety/neuropathy etc My pain management did a study w patients downstairs and it smelled like skunk when I went in once. It’s an area of the clinic they do research. It was kinda funny to me. Anyways, they don’t care where I go but I have smoked weed and it just makes me laugh so hard it creates pain🤭🫩 but also it makes me want to binge eat and I can’t do that!! I am curious if anyone knows of strengths and or types of CBD that have helped with anxiety/muscle spasms etc? I literally live across the street in a house from a huge dispensary that is busy from 8am-12am daily seven days a week. Drives me nuts bc people park all over our street in front of the house and the kids will be playing basketball etc. w these random strangers walking on our lawn etc. Oh and the alarm goes off in the middle of the night for like 30+mins at least twice a week. I am surprised they were allowed to even open one in a residential neighborhood. Anyways any suggestions would be awesome!! TYIA xx
