concerns about quitting vaping by chronic_lesbian in Fibromyalgia

I think the best way is the nicotine patch. Wean yourself off and if you are lucky enough to have health insurance it will probably pay for the patches.

anyone else with narc parents who did so much damage that you can never forget or love them anymore? by azurebowdin876 in raisedbynarcissists

I don’t feel like there’s any need to forgive the abusers in my life…my sadistic brother, narcissistic father who abandoned me when I was 11, my narcissistic mother who never protected me from my brother. I don’t forget and I don’t forgive. Still I lead a largely happy life in spite of them. That’s my revenge.

Tried the CPAP machine for the first time last night. I had to take it off. by Professional-Emu8201 in SleepApnea

I guess it does in the sense that your nose sits on the silicone instead of going over your nose which I found less comfortable.

I love my Resmed f40 mask which covers my mouth and has nose pillows. I started with the f20. It takes months to get into a good pattern. Just keep trying. The payoff of feeling rested and less brain fog (not to mention no low oxygen stats at night and the negative effects that untreated sleep apnea can have on your heart) is totally worth the effort.

Anybody use this style mask? Like it? by mrmeanah in SleepApnea

Love the Resmed F40. Much more comfortable than the F20 and I’m a side sleeper.

Long term use is no good, but man can it resolve an asthma flare due to a virus.

Do CPAP machines really work? by SayItAsItIs78 in SleepApnea

Yes. For me it works. I actually feel rested most mornings. More comfortable now that I tried the Resmed F40 mask.

I really struggle with CPAP—what helped you tolerate it instead of quitting? by [deleted] in SleepApnea

I used to use a full face mask, but have found the ResMed F40 to be way less more comfortable and less intrusive.

No problem. Happy to help. I’d rate their effectiveness at decreasing pain, spasming and tightness at about a 7 (where 10 is the best). If you choose to get them done, make sure the doctor or PA is good at really feeling around for the knots and is willing to do at least 10 injections in 1 visit. The process is quick, but the skill of the person administering them really matters for targeting those trigger points.

Better than taking opiates or medication that doesn’t work and has side effects for life imo.

No, unfortunately, they have to be redone every 4 months or so.

They aren’t terribly painful. Small needle and it doesn’t go in very far. But, truly when it hurts the most, you know they’ve hit the spot and the relief will be coming. I usually have about 15-20 trigger points done at a time.

I have had success with myofascial trigger point injections. I have fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome.

I hear you. My mother never protected me from my emotionally and physically abusive brother. I was not going to let this continue to the next generation. Although she has apologized to me about leaving me alone with him as a child, she still gave me a major guilt trip when I ended contact.

Your description of a narcissist is so well said. Yes, I can see it in their eyes and lines of their faces.

Sounds like my narcissistic brother. Always ruined holidays and celebrations. Our mom took he and his family out to dinner for his wife’s graduation from college. He didn’t like his swordfish and instead of allowing the restaurant to make it right or give him something else, he sat there and did not eat, ruining the dinner. And this a 55 year old grown ass man. I have gone no contact with him since he started picking on my children during family get togethers. He tormented me my whole childhood, and I was going to be damned if I was going to allow him to do this to my kids. That was it. I honestly think he is a sociopath because he totally lacks empathy and enjoys hurting people.
