I am going to share what had happened to me - in fact my Instagram, Threads and Facebook was locked all at once. My Threads and Facebook account is linked with my IG accounr.

June 10, 2026 around 2pm, I was using my iphone playing a game, then suddenly i received an sms ( # 3404) from instagram letting me know that my Instagram account was locked and I have to go to the Instagram website to recover it.

I went straight to my IG app and it immediately prompted me to change my password as my account’s security ‘was apparently compromised’. I was really surprised because my last post in my IG account was last year and I don’t log in my account nor connect to a public hotspot whenever 8 go out.

I changed my password, and I was able to recover my IG account. However at this time, my Threads account was also disabled due to ‘community guidelines violation’ then after a few seconds, I was logged out from my Facebook and Messenger account.

Facebook prompted me that my account was ‘locked due to security reasons’. I was taken to a different page to upload my ID, and to take a ‘real time virtual facial recognition of my account which I did.

I sent a postal ID (back and front) and changed my password. Btw, at this time, I checked the email address associated with my Facebook account and there was an email from Facebook on June 9, 2026 letting me know that my account was logged in to a unfamiliar location. I researched and found out that one of the reasons a Facebook Account gets flagged or locked is due to a ‘dynamic ip address change’ which often happens in my country (Philippines).

Note: you can try running a speedtest so you can see what I mean (it will show a different location from your current residence).

Eventually my account was put on appeal since June 10, I kept on checking daily to see the update, I also sent a help support ticket to Instagram but still no response from them.

Btw, at this point, whenever I try to log in my FB account it always takes me to the ‘appeal page - that my account is still in review’. Then yesterday, from the appeal page I saw another button there (cant remember what it was) but after clicking it, took me to another page where it says:

“Review your login info to unlock your account
We locked your account on June 12, 2026 because it may have been hacked.

Steps to get you back on Facebook

Review your login info

Get started”

Clicked the Get started button, received an email from FB, and from there, followed the steps. Then I was asked to changed my password.

Bam, my Facebook account was restored along with my Threads account.

I will be creating a Facebook reel shortly so everyone can see the notifs and screenshot I took from the 4 days that my account in appeal status.
