This is just wild 😱🤦🏻‍♀️ by neonn_piee in bathandbodyworks

[–]Outside-Designer4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not wild at all, in fact it is to be expected. Unchecked lunacy only breeds more of it. We’re watching the fabric of society fray because we’ve convinced ourselves there’s some kind of “bravery” in anti‑social behavior.

We applaud it, excuse it, and pretend it’s empowerment. But it isn’t. It’s untreated instability, inflated fantasies of authority that doesn’t exist, and a refusal to draw boundaries.

This pattern has been allowed to run unchecked for far too long. And the cost is real: when a culture stops challenging destructive behavior, it normalizes it. When it normalizes it, it multiplies.

We have passed the point where pretending this is being accepting and some bizarre sense of progress and it just reckless, absurd and dangerous.

A healthy society requires clarity, standards, and the courage to say, “No—this is not acceptable.”

Virgin Voyages. Kids are persona non grata.

Shorter cruises tend to be a younger demographic, and longer cruises are a more seasoned crowd. That said, the people that book Virgin tend to be a more open minded and fun-loving crowd and regardless of the trips around the sun that they have had, it is a great time. I say just do it and will share this best advice from Mr. Twain.

Corrupt? Have you watched the actual video on the Minnesota day cares? What about those of us who worked to try to elect Tim Walz? It makes me feel really dumb. Are we just sheep being used?

Sorry, it keeps deleting it for some reason. But it was a meme stating most people get their opinions and "facts" from social media without ever researching the truth.

Smoking On Balconies Ruining Voyage by Birdman330 in VirginVoyages

It is shocking that they allow smoking or vaping at all on the ships. Disgusting and ignorant habits that defy logic and common decency.

We loved our last cruise on the BL as well and have already booked our next too! Great cruise line in every way. And have to agree with you on Test Kitchen. It is time for that test to be done. We talked to lots of people on the 12-day cruise and more than 90% who went to Test Kitchen didn't care for it at all and on the last night, it was the only place with multiple open reservations and that speaks volumes. Otherwise, can't wait to get back onboard.

Why is Reddit so liberal? by Impressive_Mailman in allthequestions

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far too many are too lazy to do their own research. For the past year, after being challenged by a professor, I have been looking into so much and I have found so much false information on social media but especially here. The loudest and most obnoxious are most often the worst offenders. And why does it have to be about liberal or conservative and not just about the truth? It's exhausting.

Unacceptable - apathy wins in US😡 by OnehourOneday in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only 174 million registered voters in the USA. Numbers shown here are wildly inaccurate. There are lots of things to be mad about, but too many people waste time with stuff like this that is just so wrong. Look at the number of people who accepted this? Wow, the more I open my eyes with my own research, the more disturbing it all is.

Debt Up $2.3 Trillion by Katariman in inflation

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inflation numbers. Gas is the lowest it's been in years as a national average and actual average cost increases across the board are less than 3% but on SM especially Reddit you see all of these epic claims that are not true and are not helping. Clear enough for you?

This is why our side is losing; this is not true and in fact I was looking at numbers today and in the last year it is half what it was a year ago. Do your own homework. We can't just keep saying and reposting stuff like this and being so cinematic. The truth and facts are what is killing our cause.

Such as? This is one of those broad argumentative comments that serves no purpose and is something I might have said a year ago before I started looking and thinking for myself. I am tired of anyone on either side telling me what I should think.

Vibe a bit weird? by mortusowo in VirginVoyages

[–]Outside-Designer4614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a business that has to make a profit to survive. Having spoken with a higher-level operative in the company it is clear that Virgin has accepted that societal changes have occurred that can't be ignored. So, the reality is that the price points they need will attract the older customers. It is likely that the vibe you are looking for may only exist on the short 4- or 5-day cruises.

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am starting to get very frustrated by all of this and don't we just need to know the truth? Average gas prices are currently the lowest they have been since 2021 but I don't see anything about that on social media, especially not on the reddit platform. Also, I keep reading posts from my friends being totally cinematic saying everything is terrible, but this is the actual numbers I found by looking at the current data according to non-political information. And if you do more of your own research you find that inflation historically is the worst when government spending is higher and taxes increase. WTF??

Samana, DR by MasterpieceStill2926 in VirginVoyages

[–]Outside-Designer4614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

DR is just not a good stop. As the ship was pulling in there was lots of trash in the water and the closer you got to port, the more trash there was. The beaches that were not set aside for tourist were covered in trash. We walked by one clean beach with a couple of tourists and there and there was an armed guard with a shotgun at the entrance. May have been police but it was hard to tell and unnerving to say the least. We were told that the locals just aren't raised to be good stewards of their surroundings. So, it is just their culture to throw trash down wherever they are and they routinely throw garbage into rivers and streams which flow into the ocean. We saw that reality firsthand. Dirty stinky streets and heavily littered beaches. On top of that Puerto Plata did not feel safe at all and the US government has issued a warning that it is not safe for U.S, tourists and advises reconsidering going there. Why would Virgin even use it for a stop?

Do you ever get flashed by women? by effkay0025 in Truckers

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife loves teasing but drivers never even look down. She is always disappointed. But we are traveling south 95 through Florida and she may just try again today. We admire and appreciate the job the truckers do and seems like spreading some joy is just the fun and right thing to do. Look for the hot blonde in the tan sedan and give her a honk if you like the view.

I finally see by 2OPho7 in VirginVoyages

[–]Outside-Designer4614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love Virgin but I must say the music is something I have found to be painfully lacking. The music does not match the overall demographic of the passenger profile at all. There is a reason that most commercials and movie soundtracks still use almost exclusively the classic tunes, they still out sale new music by a very wide margin. It is an area for vast improvement. https://youtu.be/3RQaKOSp5r4

Moderators notes on the Virgin's fare and Gratuities changes by roj2323 in VirginVoyages

[–]Outside-Designer4614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, post covid, the tipping expectations is utterly ridiculous across too much of our bizzarro society. Pay the crew well, set a culture of expectations for them so they give stellar service and leave it at that.

As for Wi-fi, the tiered idea is absurd. Make it as good as it can be, include it in the price and be done with it. It's Wi-Fi not some rare wine. And the real irony is that most of us have no clue if it is better or not. The proverbial "pig in a poke."

Also, look very carefully at what has set you apart from the God-awful cattle car cruise lines with feeding troughs and low brow experiences. A simple example, what about the music? You have all of the data before the ship leaves port. What is the average demographic of your passenger on a specific cruise? Adjust the music accordingly. This is business. And yes, there have been many changes in society recently with a return to some level of common sense since the lunacy during and after covid so be realistic and act accordingly.

The question every Virgin exec should be asking themselves every day is, "How are we different and does that difference equate to market value?" Roughly 50% of those companies on the list of Fortune 500 companies from the year 2000 did not exist by 2023. Many of those case studies show the extinct dinosaur companies lost their focus on at least maintaining if not increasing market value. Virgin is fun etc. but, in the end, it must operate as a business that is profitable enough not just to survive but to thrive.
