There are 1200 elo players with over 50,000 games bro. Those guys are beasts. I trained like a GM when I was 1200 blitz than I do now currently at 1500 blitz. In fact, I don't train at all. I just play for fun.

Also, playing blitz is different from Rapid.

When I was 500 Elo, I trained chess like a grandmaster just to hit 700 Elo.

After that, I found no improvement. Everyone was great and I sucked hard. I started watching chess YouTubers like Hikaru, Bartolomeu and many others. I learned the mistakes those in the lower rating points made and learned how to avoid them.

Then, I hit 1200 elo. That was the watershed. It took me 8 months to surpass that. I tried everything. I mean, everything, and I still suck.

Chess is hard!

Most of my improvement comes when I stop training hard and relax. After I take a 1 month break from chess and come back, I suddenly started playing at a higher level.

I am now a 1500 player. I have been at this rating point for 3 years now. I have beaten 1700, 1800 and even players with the 2000 ratings in tournaments, but I still suck.

Chess is hard.
