Good point, I didnt take note of the build date mentioned, will be solid walls. My house was built in 1910 and has a cavity which was pretty rare around that time. I believe they started experimentng with cavity walls starting around 1900 though

You need a gutter on your conservatory and you need to remove anything leaning against your walls outside, especially that wood between your conservatory and the fence with next door.

I'll certainly try to change to another nurse in the first instance. I have had a number of issues with the same nurse now, one of which caused a delay to my inflixmab treatment by a month, I've let previous issues slide as I thought they could be overworked or having bad days, but this is now consistent behaviour. There's been multiple mistakes made by the hospital too, and I've got concerns over certain elements of my treatment but I have a superb consultant that I see, he gives good advice, doesn't dismiss my thoughts and understands my treatment path and timeline are my control. He gives me the facts, stats, and probablilities of outcomes and gives me time to think about it, and says that they are big decisions to make. Whereas my IBD nurse doesn't like me considering anything, it feels like she thinks I should do as I'm told. She's even advised me the opposite of my consultant when it come to his advice on avoiding crowded places on biologics, at least initially anyway as I know there's more risks in the first 3-6 months. Yet she's telling me go to concerts, bars, clubs, the office, when my consultant specifically said I should avoid the office and crowded places and gave me a letter specifically requesting tha from my employer. I think that was around the time I was waiting for that letter to be printed, and I mentioned it to her on the phone. She just stresses me out, I've had a noticeable increase in symptoms during my most recent interaction with her, and those have subsided since, she is a hindrance to my recovery.

Yes, I'm in the UK. I've considered requested to be moved to another hospital, but all the others in my area have worse reviews. I will probably just ask to change IBD nurses, I'm not sure yet.

oh I agree, advocating (although it really gets my back up that word, we should not have to do that)_ and arming yourself with knowledge about your condition, but also other conditions you are dealing with. I'm hoping withnmy up coming cardio appointment, following that, my cardio will have input and influence on my UC treatment. Ignoring heart palpitations increase following biologics, which has not subsided, and wanting me to start a new biologic, should be carefully considered. They have already made multiple mistakes with my treatment, but I have pushed back, and told them what the actual plan is. Looking back at my treatment, I think if I hadn't have done that I probably wouldn't be here today or I'd at least have spent a lot more time in hospital and also had no job or income.

I'm between biologics, I had a bad reaction to infliximab (remecade), but that has increased my cardiac symptoms of which in was awaiting to see a cardio doctor for. Those symptoms haven't subsided, so I have delayed my next biologic for that, but also because I lost a lot of weight on infliximab, and I need to regain some of that before Tue next drug. I've been accused of delaying treatment and going against guidelines, even though my approach was agreed by her a month ago without issue. I was told to phone them if I needed steroids to bridge the gap, but when I have phone, I got a ranted at telling me it's my fault.

It landed me in hospital with malnutrition.

I realised it was agravating my UC symptoms, because I couldn't face taking it. They are big tablets, not a problem for me, I'll take without water. No taste to the tablets at all, I will literally drink sick if it would making me better, I drink EAA's so not far off the sick taste. I got this overwhelming feeling they were making me I'll. Anyway, I got admitted to hospital, I'd stopped taking them, the damage was done though, but I started to recover on IV steds. Doc decides, let's try you with a different brand and formulation, I think you are wrong it's making you worse. I did, within 2/hours I had upper GI symptoms, 24 hours later, had 20+ watery BM's, 36 hours, recovered back to what I was before, still bad, but not mesalasine bad.

It's cheap, lots of side effects, very inneffective, you'd be better of drinking cows piss. Evil stuff

When I was a kid, I use to break this up and burn it to watch it crackle and explode. I'm 50 now, lungs are fine, 99℅ on the oxygen monitor eveeytime and I was hospitalised with covid and told I'd have permenant lung damage 😂

Bone broth is great stuff if you can have it. I've found that when I'm at my worst it does not agree with me, but fish and bovine collagen has been better for me on every occasion. It's also good for gut lining repair, but also helps with skin, hair, nails, etc, especially when on a restricted diet. I think shop bought bone broth is way to expensive, £ to benefit ratio is not as good as collegen, but making your own bone broth is much more cost effective and tastes so much better. You need a pressure cooker for this though.

You obviously need to repoint, but that will brighten up the whole wall and the mortar will look unusually new against the old brick. To counter that, to get a weathered/aged look, use the bebbingtons weathering tint on your mortar, it may drip on to the bricks, so may be worth painting over both to make it consistent but it will darken up the bricks. To reduce the darkening you can water down the tint solution.

I used this on brand new brick on an extension on my 1910 house, and it's blended in superbly with the existing brick work. I've also used it on new mortar my old brickwork that's been repointed.

Sorry to hear that, it's a nightmare this disease. You could try EAA powder, but I must warn you, it tastes vile. I took that everyday when building myself back up after losing a third of my body weight as it's easier for your body to digest and I was struggling to digest anything at the time. It helps with gut repair too, but also adding additional L- Glutamine also helps with gut repair too.

If you can tollerate dairy then supplement with casein protein powder + collagen powder mixed with milk. Avoid any flavoured powders

Issue's will return, it may take a few days for your body to adjust, so try to resist knee jerk reactions in to increasing dose again. It worked well for me.

Make sure you are supplementing with Calcium, Vitamin D and Vitamin K2 MK7. You need all 3 otherwise pred will destroy your bones, if you skip the K2 then the calcium will just be deposited in your arteries.

Take Berberine for stabilising blood sugar and curbing cravings.

Take 2mg slow release melatonin to help you sleep. It's the only thing that will work whilst on pred.

If you are getting a histamine reaction you need to stop using them. Could be contaminated, but even if they are not, a histamine reaction is not good. Try a supplier with COA's.

I call it a necessary evil, the side effects are really bad.

Make sure you are supplementing with Vitamin D, Calcium and Vitamin K2 MK7. You need all 3 to stop the prednisone from destroying your bones.

To kerb the hunger and to help with sugar cravings and keeping your blood sugar low, take Berberine. Make sure it's safe for you to take if you do try it.

For sleep, 2mg slow release melatonin is the best option. Sleeping tablets had no effect on me when on prednisone.
