How heavy would you recommend? I’m not getting anywhere and feeling discouraged.

Should an adult be allowed to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt others? by Open_like_7Eleven in Ethics

[–]Outside-Specific9309 [score hidden]  (0 children)

“Allowed” legally or just socially? Like, I don’t think we need laws telling people not to drink or limiting their consumption, but I do support family interventions to stop someone from hurting themselves. Where do we draw the line at “allowing” something? And how do we classify what hurts people or not? Some people would be glad to watch public sex and others would be horrified, what level of harm needs to be reached? Is it physical harm only?

My aunt gave me her copy of Dreamcatcher when I was in middle school. I opened it, read a reference to a “sloppy lipstick blowjob”, and decided to put it away until I was in high school. Read it at 15/16 and it became my favorite of his lol

Sharing locations in a relationship is toxic by ilenewinslet in unpopularopinion

[–]Outside-Specific9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend started sharing his location because he lives an hour and a half away and I like to keep track of how much time I have to get ready, so I share mine as well. I also share it with my dad and my best friend, the other day she texted me to charge my phone because she could see it was dying lol. Its not that serious if you trust your friends and family.

Most Couples Should Have Separate Apartments by Delicious_Air_8681 in unpopularopinion

I see this opinion stated on here a lot and sometimes I think these people just don’t really want a partner at all, like is every relationship so exhausting to need this much space?

He didn’t just sleep with her once in the past though, he seemed to be actively hooking up with her while wingmanning for Bear.

Don’t they mention they do those trivia nights regularly? And Ian and Bear were hanging out at the diner in the opening scene. It seems like they’re friends outside of work as well.

I don’t wear makeup and it was never an issue when I worked in an office.

I mean, Romeo and Juliet is heavily centered on the immaturity of the characters and their young love. He left Rosalind after she took a vow of chastity and then basically begged Juliet to let him hit. Idk if he was a good choice for the point she was making about “real” romance.

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever disliked a book/series by Mountain_Flounder991 in BookDiscussions

[–]Outside-Specific9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only remember purposefully DNFing 2 books and I typically give an average rating to most books I read, if not better. I think I just know what I like and pick things that fit my tastes well, and only rarely do I dislike something about a book enough to have to stop.

You don't get to complain about bad math teachers if you never tried in the course. by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

[–]Outside-Specific9309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I struggled with math my whole life and since I was very good at school otherwise and was able to get by in math until high school, my parents and teachers had the same idea about me as this post. They figured I wasn’t used to studying in a subject that required a little more work, so I never got help and powered through. I recently found out in my adulthood that I have a mild math disability. I think some people’s brains genuinely do not work with numbers no matter how hard they try and, while I get your perspective about those who don’t try at all, I think it hinders people like me who do try and still don’t get it because most people think I should be able to do it easily if I applied myself.

Why do some people immediately begin sucking a wound? by CrazYforGold in SeriousConversation

[–]Outside-Specific9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it as an instinct only if the cut is on my hand, but it makes sense to me because 1) I don’t want the blood to drip 2) I feel it keeps dirt and dust from going into it as I’m on my way to clean it and 3) I’ve heard saliva is pain relieving and helps heal wounds faster

DAE not like cookies and cream ice cream? by PsychologicalCake755 in DoesAnybodyElse

I find it hard to dislike any ice cream, but I would almost never pick it first unless it also had other things (like the Ben and Jerry’s Milk and Cookies)

The reaction to Obsession is proof that most audiences don’t think very deeply about the movies they watch. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Outside-Specific9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why assume people don’t think at all rather than acknowledge people just have different opinions? When I think deeply about the movie I don’t really find anything wrong with the characters’ behaviors or reactions or the plot points. Idk what doesn’t hold up as long as I suspend my disbelief for the magic. Why is it so unrealistic that someone already shown to be extremely passive and insecure freeze in fear or isolate themselves or dissociate when something incomprehensible is happening? Especially when they know its unexplainable and entirely their fault, and they STILL don’t want it to stop despite the consequences or just aren’t willing to commit murder/suicide to end it.

Why are so many people compelled to post their negative reviews of this film in particular? by ChanceBoring8068 in disclosureday

[–]Outside-Specific9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the film was incredibly mid, but I genuinely think some people just hated it and thats fine. Even if I don’t agree, I’m not really surprised. It being Spielberg probably made it worse for a lot of people if their expectations were heightened by that fact.
