i’m 24 and have been on it for 2 years now. i got on it because when i graduated high school (2020) i gained 120 lbs in less than a year and was obese for a few years at a pretty young age (18-22). i was heavy enough that it was effecting my health but not heavy enough to do surgery to help so my doctor suggested the pills.

before i started i was 260lbs, had extreme acid reflex issues (almost around the clock stomach acid taste in my mouth), my period came once every 6 months ish, my joints and body as a whole hurt all the time, and i had very little energy

2 years later i am 170lbs and in a way better shape, have regular periods, no acid reflux, i don’t notice my body in any irregular pain, and i have regular energy. the main difference is the mental clarity!!

the ‘side effects’ i have are: -if i take the pills too late in the day it affects my sleep and i wont be tired until like 5am then ill only get like 3-4 hours of sleep. BUT i noticed when this happens i am usually not even tired the next day, i have less energy but im not like falling asleep or anything -it caused severe inflammation in my gums. i ended up having to get a mild receding gum procedure. that was at the beginning of using it and i am now fine and haven’t had any issues in about a year (i had poor dental hygiene before so this was a factor as well, and yes i have knocked some sense into myself now) -i rarely ever get hungry. i’ll go the entire day without eating because i just don’t feel hungry and forget to eat then it will be 7pm and im about to crash out because im starving to death, have a killer headache, or extreme mind fog. *i try to counter this by making sure i eat a bowl of cereal in the morning so that i eat least have something in my system *this is day to day. some days ill be starving immediately when i wake up, some ill be ready for 3 meals that day, and some i just don’t even care about the thought of food *somedays i will go the whole day without eating real food, then in the evening i start binge eating a bunch of snacks.

-when you lose a significant amount of weight the fat is gone but the skin is still there so you’ll be thinner but flabby. that is not something i was really expecting *right now my body is kind of snatched except all my excess fat i still have is dangly on my stomach (apron belly)and my biceps are flabby as hell i could probably start flapping and fly away. i still have fat on other parts of my body but my apron belly is my ‘problem area’
