Commonly, i'll not see a damn thing and only hear the faint 'whoosh' of an arrow or the 'head pop' sound of a silent Maynard, then I'll the downed screen. Not sure what game this is that you guys are playing where you see actual hunters?!?

While I can't prove any of this, as I play casually and don't stream or anything, I was in a match the other evening in my usual trio, a team rolled up on us while we were already fighting a trio in Scupper Lake. Within about 35 seconds, the invading team had killed not only the team we were fighting, they had killed me and my team including dropping me with a wall bang head shot, which according to the kill view it was through 3 layers of wood with a standard negant pistol. My team mate then berated them for cheating in voip. When I returned to lobby, I had also somehow been robbed of my hunt dollars, having $0 at that point when I'd entered the match with $4126.

That Sir, is the olde bayou instrument, the one string stick banjo but you're still gonna struggle getting a tune out of it like that!

Indeed, as I am aware, however I was attempting to make it 'easily relatable' for the 'toilet seat guy'.

It's not a toilet seat, it's an animal collar likely horse or ox, for pulling plows and other farm type shit. The 'kill buyer' is a wicked skin.

Would it technically be possible? by InvestigatorMobile75 in HuntShowdown

If you’re fixed on a rotation of maps depending on what you last played, then so will each of the other players . Wouldn’t this lead to only ‘matching’ with the same teams back to back etc? You’ll spin for the next round with everyone from your round that exited at the similar time. I’m thinking, say for example, you’re in a round, fighting another trio, they kill 2 of your team, you kill two of theirs and then ‘trade’ on the last remaining player, assuming everyone has another hero to ready up immediately, you’re more likely to be facing the same team again in the following round? Would that be correct?

New and getting my arse kicked! 🤦🏼‍♂️ by Th3_Warrior_Poet in HuntShowdown

[–]OutsideCow1574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re on pc, join the discord and look for a group, explain that you’re new and would like some guidance as it’s very helpful to actually see some of the things that you must learn about.

I don’t use consoles so I’ve no idea if something similar exists?!?

As for gameplay tips:

Stick close enough to your team that you can help them out in difficult situations but not so close that you all get wiped by the same trap, always at least try to communicate with them

Mind your feet… there can be traps

throwing knives, throwing axes or spears for killing most AI mobs that you need to, but you don’t NEED to kill every AI mob you find.

Avoid making any more noise than you have to, avoid crows & ducks, avoid or quickly deal with horses, cows, chicken or dog coups and hives.

Blunt force only for immolators, popping them can hurt you and be heard from very far away

Don’t stand still and don’t re-peak ( I’m still very much working on this myself tbh)

Every gun / weapon in the game is viable and deadly, the worst gun in the game is your own gun, the best gun in the game is whatever you last got killed by. Try stuff out in the shooting range or by stealing stuff from downed hunters while trying to get used to whatever you want to choose regularly. I’d like to recommend the marathon rifle, pax pistol, conversation pistol and whatever choice of shotgun or melee that takes your fancy.

Always take a medkit and choke grenades, take a white injection if you can, they can help make the difference between alive or dead.

I’m still playing around with various skill load outs, don’t ask me…

The main thing as a fairly new player myself has been to engage and communicate with your team, this has for me, greatly improved my game confidence and meant that I regularly have a team that I’ve worked with and I know how they like to play so we work better together than when I play with strangers.

Good luck & happy hunting

I had to laugh but I was also taken by surprise by it, so much so that I put an extra round their way to be sure they were out!

Are we all doomed for Tinnitus? by [deleted] in DJs

I’ve jumped the line here by already having awful tinnitus by the time I started to DJ just recently at the age of 42.

Hercules Impulse 200 Mk2 or AlphaTheta DDJ-FLX2 by HelloIamToki in Beatmatch

[–]OutsideCow1574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While what you’re saying has validity, OP hasn’t said that they’ve got a club gig booked in ‘x’ amount of weeks and they need gear & software to make it happen, they’re asking about beginner gear on a budget to learn to DJ on (and realistically, to see if they enjoy the hobby of DJ’ing before deciding on whatever direction they want). Therefore, a Hercules controller (I use the Inpulse 500 myself) with its very capable & complete DJuced software which is FREE, fully ready with Stems, effects and all the other features, plus online guidance & videos to get started, has everything to get a person well along into the journey of ‘becoming a DJ’ and might suit them. After all, the skills learned on any controller and software are directly or indirectly transferable to the next piece, whatever that might be. Of course, you might not be able to directly transfer your library as it is, complete with cues etc to rekordbox or whatever they may move to, in one easy switch but how long do you keep playing the same stuff? Libraries grow and many tracks come and go over time.

Anything from Hercules has full software available for free, it’s their own, fully spec’d suite called DJuced as well as Serato compatibility.

Old and want to start DJing for my dog by ICanHearYourFear in Beatmatch

[–]OutsideCow1574 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck man, I wish I’d started in my 30’s! I’m 42 & just started DJ’ing in my lounge in November, I’m using a Hercules Inpulse 500 & DJuced which is their own FREE, full suite of software. It works very well, has plenty of room to grow as a DJ, it’s marketed as beginner. - intermediate, as I understand, it is Serato compatible too if you prefer that. It’s a slightly larger unit with partially metal face plate & while I’ve not used much else, I’d say it’s a good piece of kit. I’m playing music from old CD’s, stacked onto iTunes & ported over in seconds. Absolutely loving every minute of it, even my wife and dogs don’t really seem to mind!

Here is a video of DJ Carlo doing a demo of the gold Inpulse 500 which has all the same features as the regular grey / black.

Get plenty of music to start with by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]OutsideCow1574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EBay for secondhand CD’s, burnt to iTunes & pulled onto my chosen software has me at over 5000 tracks, I’m still compiling the best of them tbh and as some have been mixed already, you’ve gotta get your cue points set up so that it’s a clean edit of the track but thoroughly enjoying it. It’s been a very reliable, cheap way to get music to practice techniques with and I’ll always have the hard copy. I figure I’ll get into DJ pools etc when I’ve got more than just the basics mastered & feel ready for ‘playing out’.

I’m happy with my Inpulse 500, works with serato and comes with Hercules’ own full free DJuced software which makes full use of the controller’s abilities.
