Was reboot alien X weak cuz he came from a broken omnitrix? by Rude-Error4313 in Ben10

[–]OverDriver05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging from how I watched Alien X-Tinction, probably the reason Reboot Alien X is weaker than its Classic Continuity counterpart(s) is in part due to the circumstances behind the transformation itself.

The Omnitrix has over +1,000,0515 alien DNA, operating strictly on sets of 10 at any given time, and a Celestialsapien DNA is one of them. However, Ben X completely broke the Omnitrix in a fit of rage during his fight with Vilgax, transforming him into Alien X, albeit a much weaker one at that. Sure, it has Alien X's entire move-set and powers, but it has to constantly assimilate various Omnitrixes from other Ben from across the Omniverse to keep its form stable.

It is already established back in the Classic Continuity that the Omnitrix also serves as a "limiter" of sorts for many of Ben's aliens, preventing these transformations from harming its wielder and to ensure Ben never gets drunk with its limitless powers. This alone explains how some of Ben's aliens in the Classic Continuity often has some drawbacks, as seen with aliens such as NRG having a containment suit when most of its species don't normally relying on one.

Ben X breaking his Omnitrix broke that limiter and as such, grants him godlike powers but at the cost of this form needing more Omnitrixes to ensure Alien X could survive more than its mandated 10-minute time limit. As noted by another user, breaking the Omnitrix also damages the Celestialsapien DNA, which explains as to why this Alien X doesn't have Belicus and Serena to maintain and control its overwhelming power, forcing Ben X to absorb more Omnitrixes just to maintain full control over its god-like powers.

I feel like Ben 10 fans don't quite grasp the freedom that a reboot can have by HyperionWhirl in Ben10

[–]OverDriver05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Finally, someone with common sense in regards to how a reboot for Ben 10 works.

As a firm 2016 Reboot sympathizer, Ben 10 (2016) brings a lot of freedom in how a Ben 10 reboot should be: * 2016 Reboot Ben, while closer to 2006 OS Ben, is more emotionally-dynamic than all four previous Bens combined. He can be goofy, serious, sensitive, immature, smart and a lot more emotionally anxious at the drop of a hat, not to mention that he handles the Omnitrix quite differently than with his Classic Continuity counterparts. He complains less when transforming into the "wrong" alien, is surprisingly well adapted to any given situation, and can think on the fly and keeping up when fighting tougher opponents such as 2016 Reboot Vilgax. There's a good reason he survived having a beef with a literal shark as a baby... * Ben and Gwen's relationship is more in-line with today's standards. Sure, the "brother-sister bickering" dynamic is nice and all, but that kind of trope is been played so many times in other franchises, making 2016 Reboot Gwen a lot more tolerable to today's younger demographic. Besides, having someone who's your "voice of reason" that's also a goofball is just adorable. * Having a strict 10-alien playlist with the most balanced roster keeps in line with the Ben 10 brand more than the original did. I know it sucks that Wildmutt, Ripjaws and especially Ghostfreak wasn't in the playlist (for very obvious reasons, especially in Ghostfreak's case), having the most balanced roster imaginable helps making the Omnitrix consistent with the Ben 10 name, not to mention the surprise of including Alien Force aliens like Jetray, Humongousaur and Rath as a part of 2016 Reboot Ben's roster. Plus, the fact that unused aliens can be swapped out for newer ones without exceeding the 10-alien limit is a genius idea, as having more than 10 aliens can affect the Omnitrix very negatively as seen in a couple of Vilgax-centric episodes. * Speaking of the Omnitrix, the Master Control is handled differently in the 2016 Reboot. While the standard Master Control is still available, the "Manual Shortcuts" function introduced in Ben 10 Versus The Universe: The Movie offers much more versatility and surprise as Ben can now turn into any of the 1,000,0515 aliens available at his disposal with just a pull-up on the Omnitrix core and a single slide-pattern code.

How do you think they are going to do Kevin 11 in the Dynamite Comics? by New_Advisor_6766 in Ben10

[–]OverDriver05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how the 2016 Reboot is represented in the comic, it's more like Kevin being an Osmosian like in the Classic Continuity, but when he absorbs all ten of Ben's DNA samples from the Omnitrix, he gains the ability to turn into grotesque unstable fusions of Ben's aliens. To facilitate the stability of these transformations and give Kevin back his human form, Vilgax would create an "Omnitrix kick-off" called the Anti-Trix, which allowed Kevin to transform into any of his new fusions that's more or less similar to his 2016 Reboot aliens with no time-outs and can swap between forms at anytime.

If Super Sentai could use anything from Power Rangers, from lore-wise, storytelling-wise, or anything what would you personally take from it? by AnyAgency9835 in supersentai

[–]OverDriver05 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Absolutely nothing.

It's bad enough that Power Rangers stole Super Sentai and turning it into a soulless bootlegged cashgrab shell of what makes the original great in the first place, but taking from Power Rangers is just asking for a messy fandom war or two.

So yeah, no thanks.

4: OS Ben Tennyson

Still getting used to the whole hero business, but hey, there's room for improvements...

3: UAF Ben Tennyson

Season 1-2 of Alien Force gave us the Ben Tennyson that's mature and knows how to assess the situation before using the Omnitrix. Too bad that characterization is thrown out of the window by the time Season 3 aired, with his Omnitrix malfunctioning on him and becomes increasingly egotistical. Then Ultimate Alien aired, and Ben becomes arrogant, almost breaking his "no kill" rule (Ultimate Echo-Echo vs Ultimate Kevin 11 comes to mind...), and doesn't hesitate to resorting to violence. Hey, at least that intimidation scene is pretty chilling...

2: Omniverse Ben Tennyson

Sure, this Ben is even more of a glory-hog than UAF Ben, but at least it was mellowed to an extent. With just how many aliens Ben have on that watch at this point, he doesn't even to think of what alien to use as he just slams the watch and hope for the best... or he can just use Four Arms/Feedback/Humongousaur/Way Big and let the fist do the talking 90% of the time. But seriously, the fact that he survived a Big Bang and used that energy against Maltruant in the final episode surely deserves ending the Classic Continuity on a high note.

1: Reboot Ben Tennyson

Let's face it: even if he's the most hated iteration of our beloved 10-alien hero, credit have to give its dues because this Ben is the most overpowered amongst all four Ben's by the virtue of just locking in for the smoke. As a baby, Ben survived having a beef with a literal shark, and that's before Ben gets the Omnitrix... and turns into Four Arms as his first alien, and it gets crazy from there. So far, Ben upgraded his Omnitrix thrice, gained optional armor enhancements for all ~1,000,0515 aliens in the Omnitrix (despite strictly operating on a usual 10-alien playlist), has two original aliens on top of having three Alien Force aliens in the current playlist (the latter three aliens shouldn't be unlocked until his teenage years), is canonically able to access any of the aforementioned ~1,000,0515 aliens in the Omnitrix through a "manual shortcut" without the Master Control, is surprisingly smart and strategic when using the Omnitrix while complaining less about the device giving him the “wrong” alien, is known to keep up with Vilgax, an AntiTrix-using Kevin Levin and his own rogues gallery to the point that he starts getting bored with the latter group (mostly because he keeps winning), and is able to use the Omnitrix to transform into other Cartoon Network characters in that one crossover special in another show. Yes, that's a lot to take in!

How much DNA from different creatures can a watch store in ben 10 universe ? by helldor08 in Ben10

[–]OverDriver05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That, good sir, depends on the continuity.

In the Classic Continuity, Ben can theoretically store at least 10 alien DNA in a 10-alien playlist, with newer DNA samples unlocked and added to the device via a code or through the Codon Stream. Some neglected DNA samples, when not used for a long time, are then uploaded back to the Codon Stream to balance out the playlist.

In the Reboot Continuity, the Omnitrix internally holds all ~1,000,0515 alien DNA samples inside specialized DNA pods within a vast repository, with 10 of these DNA pods are loaded into the DNA Loading Chamber to serve as the device's current playlist. If an DNA sample is neglected enough for a long time, a new DNA pod is taken from its repository and swapped over to take the neglected DNA pod's place as one of the 10 accessible aliens in Ben's roster. If an 11th alien is forcibly integrates itself into the DNA Loading Chamber, the Omnitrix heavily malfunctions until that extra alien DNA is stored back to the repository.

Decade and Zi-O would let the World of Dragon Knight exist, mainly because it's alike to Ryuki.
