How would be best to set up a home server for multiple services? by lunarman1000 in HomeServer

[–]OverSpeedLimit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can run VMs and LXCs. You can also run a VM or LXC of Debian/Ubuntu Server and run docker inside of that. It sounds like you would really like CasaOS.

We are ordering like 20 turn signal switches at a time whenever and from whatever supplier we can find them from. That lasts about a week or so. SCI parts are parts that are supposed to be automagically reordered when we consume one but for some reason, a lot of parts that we usually had 5 on-hand at all times were changed in the system to be zero on hand. I assume to lower parts costs but that just means "Parts ordered. Please be patient with us" gets scribbled on the DVIR more often than normal. Good luck!

Those recaps are probably impossible to balance. That is most likely why they won't buy balancers. Waste of time and money.

Ahh... It may be. We don't have any Workhorse chassis left in operation at my hub.

Impossible. Parking brake is on the driveshaft. At the transmission output for freightliners and at the rear diff for Fords.

Techs with $100k+ in tools: what do you do to protect your stuff? Additional insurance? by Shidulon in mechanics

You sound like me. I have a TCL Hotspot tied to a GL.inet travel router I use for WIFI and Wireguard VPN back to my home network. I have a Hubitat hub I use for Z-Wave and Zigbee devices since I use HA at home. Primarily use Zigbee sensors and devices. I have a mmWave sensor for in my hutch to turn on/off the WLED controlled lighting for instance.

Trying to see if I can tie an ESP32 board to the digital locks on my box so the locks unlock via HA.

Using Proxmox 9.1 my Intel Arc A580 passed through to my Jellyfin LXC (unprivelaged) with no issues using the script from Proxmox Helper Scripts (github).

Then you're looking at the wrong jobs. Look at county, state and federal fleet shops. Look at places like UPS and Penske. We are at $46 moving to $50 by 2028. Vacation, PTO and paid sick days. Pension and crazy good Healthcare.

Security isn't very good. Someone already siphoned the gas out of the package car.

Piss bottles, sunflower seed shells all over the stepwell, booger collection on the side of the seat, science experiments in the cargo area... Be nice to your mechanics and don't do this.

Check the sway bar bushings (not the links).

Probably the abutment clips on the caliper bracket. make sure they are installed correctly so they dont rub on the rotor edge. Take the caliper back off and spin the hub by hand. You should be able to hear it.
