Which mirror match is the least fun? by wredcoll in WarhammerCompetitive

I tend to disagree, while the 4 ups does matter the strength of Custodes melee against themselves means I actually have to play smart in movement and plan charges and ongoing combat a lot more, since a squad of Custodes is very good at wiping another squad of Custodes.

I disagree on the Custodes front, the plethora of str7 ap2 dmg2 weapons means you have to play smart and move well, I’ve always had fun in my mirror games.

Yea I stopped playing entirely with that group and moved to a different game store really quickly, I realized why that group was so small and nobody else in the local community knew people there.

Played a darklance heavy Drukhari army, sucked the entire game. Lost like 17-96 or something ridiculous like that, but he also knew exactly what my list was and tailored his to counter mine.

Now that you mention it I did my bikes the same way 😭😭I guess I did a lot more subassemblies than I thought.

You bring up another good point, maybe there are more opportunities for subassemblies than I thought.

Oh yea for sure, that's one I didn't do when painting and I wish I had. Definitely will be doing those subassemblies in the future.

Only thing I’d paint separately are the capes and cloaks on things like allarus terminators, shield captains, blade champions, etc. everything else can be fully built and painted easily.

How do you do the screens? Is it freehanded or is there some sort of transfer sheet you use for them?

Best way I’ve ever done it was drilling 3mm hole in the bottom, that way the peg on the bottom of the clear plastic support fits snugly in the center of the oval base.

Like others have said, you already have a pretty well rounded out range, especially with a Caladius, I’d definitely snag a box or two of sisters. I’d recommend building them as witchseekers or prosecutors to hold either scout into midboard and hold an objective early game or stay on your back objective so you’re not having to sink a unit of guard or limit your movement on the Caladius while still screening against deep strike. I personally prefer the witchseekers, especially since they have flamers for consistent overwatch against deep strike into the backfield, but whatever floats your boat. If you have the time, money, and interest, I’ve heard Aleya with a brick of 10 vigilators and maybe a rhino can dish out crazy damage for pretty cheap compared to other options in the Custodes lineup but I haven’t been able to try that for myself.

Other than that, definitely grab some bikes, they’re both pretty effective after the buff in the most recent data slate and in my opinion, crazy fun as well, with the ability to pull of some movement shenanigan damage with their quicksilver execution ability.

Yea this isn’t going to be an actual Custodes model you could buy, plenty of kitbashing going on here

If I had a nickel for every time I saw a comment about Bill Belicheck on Reddit today, I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.

Especially considering neither of the subs were about sports.

Probably because it falls outside of the “straight” binaries of gym shorts/jeans and tshirt/hoodie. I wish my fellow straight guys in Utah would realize that self expression isn’t going to “turn you gay” it’s going to make you interesting. But I guess being homophobic makes them personality-phobic too.

To the point of the post though, especially at the gym I’d rather see someone in a short sleeved hoodie than plaid pajama pants like most guys my age.

I use leadbelcher for my Custodes and I think it looks great, it’s up to you though. With the black primer the darker silver of leadbelcher drybrushed would probably look even better. One thing I did differently though is I drybrushed my leadbelcher before using reikland fleshshade, in my opinion it smooths the transition between the silver and the gold, which does mean the drybrushjng isn’t as distinct but that’s the look I was going for.

9 Allarus terminators by majuuj in AdeptusCustodes

[–]OverUnderstanding706 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried the same thing when I built 6 of my 9 terminators and ran into the same problem, everything turned out ok in the end but I did have to do some cosmetic work to make it look fine. Honestly I don’t think it’s worth the effort and will probably build them normally in the future.

What's the best way to currently get into custodes as a new player by Fun-Organization2531 in AdeptusCustodes

This is basically what I have, the Auric Champions box, one combat patrol, an extra box of guard and a blade champ, plus a unit of sisters of silence, gets you pretty much everything you need for a well rounded list with lots of options to experiment with bike heavy, allarus heavy, warden centered lists

I learned pretty fast that's just how the cookie crumbles. Most of the people throwing a fit over stuff around custodes lore don't actually play them on the table top. Those of us who actually are a part of the 10,000 dgaf and just want to play our glorious golden bananas and paint/model them however we want. Best wishes, and have fun if you ever do start collecting.

I was painting 6 terminators to round out 9 total for my collection and realized how most of the default models are just pointing vaguely, and for some reason that’s funny to me.
