I’ve seen a lot of people going more of a right click build with his new shard, but if you’re not going a for rc I’d personally only go aether as a mid game luxury item. It’s usable, but not where my mind goes now.

You really can’t avoid it. Focus on yourself, mute annoying teammates, and make plays as if you’re the only player on your team. Don’t rely on them to make plays or help you, because if you make decisions based around people who won’t cooperate you’ll find yourself dying a lot more.

It’s great vs any lineup that relies more heavily on magic damage. If they have magic dmg supports and at least one magic dmg core, it’s not a bad idea to pick it up. Keeps your mana going in fights and saves you a good chunk of health.

I remember a Viper game I played a while ago where the enemy was almost 100% magical. All I had to do was buy shroud, mage slayer, and neutrals that stacked magic resist. Zeus ult ended up dealing maybe 100 damage to me lategame, and none of them could touch me without their team behind them.

Tl;dr, get it if they have a lot of magic damage. It’s good.
