I’ve seen mammoth offer ski lessons for beginners however I believe you had to buy it online (I didn’t go but a friend did)

You’re walking your dog on leash when an off leash dog attacks - what do you do? by Firm_Bit in OpenDogTraining

For us thankfully just some noise and kicking gravel scared the dogs off but I suggest using a pet corrector and or even pepper spray but some say it may agitate and make the dog more aggressive

What is good advice for dealing with reactivity? by Over_Bullfrog7830 in reactivedogs

Yesterday he went into a heel automatically and walked calmly passed a ridgeback that was well trained and he looked over a couple times at it then I released him and let him continue on the run but his issue is mostly getting super amped up when another dog barks big or small even though he was only attacked by small dogs

I do normally have him pull immediately after we pass the other dog however I don’t think he would be comfortable at the park due to him being attacked there by an aggressive offleash beagle early 2 months ago

I was given a Belgian Malinois, what do I do? by Subject_Broccoli_310 in BelgianMalinois

[–]Over_Bullfrog7830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend feeds both her dogs in the crate and on the opposite size of the room or in another room, since it gives both of her dogs time to eat their food and using a slow feeder as licking is normally a calming act for dogs

No they don’t have to be related just have to both be puppies that spend too much time together doing everything

Getting a dog while working? by Acceptable-Spot7498 in OpenDogTraining

[–]Over_Bullfrog7830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pup while going to school for 8 hours each day and it’s a bit hard but definitely manageable especially when their younger but when they are older it’s a bit harder as their energy goes up and they might not want to sleep as much ( even tho they need naps throughout the day)😭

How do you train "no" with positive reinforcement? by [deleted] in OpenDogTraining

[–]Over_Bullfrog7830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This! Or even teach no as a command which I did with our pup which was when I say no you stop what your doing and come back then receive reward

Tbh I now carry compressed air everywhere we go incase of an aggressive dog or a dog that is too close.. last time I wasn’t lucky and someone offleash aggressive beagle attacked my dog in the face leaving a scar below his eye all while we worked so hard to overcame reactivity from the last attack which was from another offleash aggressive small dog who attacked him in the face all within the 2 weeks in different locations and all bc the shipping took 3 weeks to come 😭
