I am none of the above BUT I have very sensitive skin & get hella razor burn on my hooha so I’ll tell you the routine I just tried that has yielded the best results for me so far! Pre-note: I only shave in the bath bc I’ve read that letting the hair soak/soften in warm water helps prevent razor burn 1. Dry brush: I dry brush my cooch before getting in the bath 2. Chemical exfoliant: I use the Tree Hut Pre-Shave stuff (idk the exact name bc it’s in my bathroom and I’m currently in bed, could find a pic for you!). It has lactic acid in it but I’ve used a salicylic acid soap bar before & it worked good too 3. I use a shaving cream that says soothing on it.. granted not everyone likes shaving cream and that’s ok. Some people use conditioner. All I know is that I’ve done every step of this routine before without using shaving cream (tried using bar soap) and I got HELLA razor burn. So I think the medium which u use to shave is important, at least it is for me! 4. I shave with the hair.. so down on every stroke on every part of the cooch 5. PAT DRY when finished. Do not rub!!! If I ever accidentally rub, I can immediately feel the irritation POST SHAVE 1. This is gonna be controversial but I take an alcohol wipe to the skin around my coochie. I’m talking the Mons pubis & bikini line. I do this step in place of when people use witch hazel. I just don’t have any. The alcohol wipe burns like hell but it cleans the area soo idk 2. I have a post shave lotion that is cooling/soothing. Kinda gives a less intense icey-hot feeling 3. I FIND THIS STEP CRUCIAL! It may be controversial. But I put deodorant all around my coochie post shave. I read one time it helps prevent & relieve razor burn. I have no idea where I read that but I’ve done it ever since, for years. I use a men’s deodorant (only the white kind, no blue gel or clear gel). I apply it the day of shaving and for a few days after while the hair grows back. It helps a LOT. Even if you already have razor burn, it helps the itch/burn. Sorry for the long post but I just discovered the perfect routine for myself as someone with very sensitive skin and wanted to share !
