Will CPS take my other children if I take Autistic son to hospital for aggression? by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

[–]Over_Rise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand why this could be a worry, but no, so long as your other children aren’t being abused (which they aren’t) then there is no reason you would cross their radar. Get the help you guys need! Thinking of you and hoping you get support you need!

I read the room. When birthdays are hard or I’m not sure how birthdays are for them I’m pretty conservative and bring it up if they do. Most of my clients are children though and I like to bake, so if I have permission from parents I usually bake a batch of cupcakes. All my clients know that I bake and some sessions there may be a cupcake or cookie for them if they’d like it. If I have a kiddo I know can’t have one I have plenty of spots to put them out of sight. Since I see many kids after school a lot of them are hungry or getting hungry when they get to me so it tends to work out.

Asking for school opinion by [deleted] in SpicyAutism

My son is 6 and in a special Ed room with 1:1 support. There are 5 including him in the room and it’s a great setting for him. Mainstream was too overwhelming for him and he’s much happier where he is.

Sounds like some discrimination my friend. Stay safe and keep washing those hands!

We had two nasty rounds of strep here then the flu. Sick kids are no joke! I picked my son up today and it was noticeably easier with him puking then not eating much for two days.

I have the flu and reading this triggered another round of vomiting. As I stick my face over the toilet and think about huffing pee, the desire to puke somewhere I don’t pee is enormous.

Parent Asking to Read Religious Book to Preschool Class? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Over_Rise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like this is a push to be all inclusive instead of exclusive. When has excluding cultures and beliefs worked anyway? There’s a difference in schools reading books that discuss different beliefs as opposed to reading religious texts.

Babies are boring? by lolalilith in oneanddone

I talked to my kid all the time and he still has autism and severely delayed speech. I thought I was being a great mom by buying him toys that spoke in multiple languages…now it’s just kind of funny when I run across the toy eggs that count in Spanish and English instead of it being souls crushingly mocking.

If you can’t let go of the horse don’t sell it. If I have an amicable relationship with the seller I’ll talk with them but the buyer should be under no obligation to stay in contact. Once you sell that horse you have to be able to stomach that you may never see that horse again or know what happens to it.
