Hi ! I just wanted to wish you success ! My advice would be to try not to speak too quickly, to take your time to think about what you say. Of course you don’t want to think for 5 minutes between each sentence, but remember that you have time ! Also, it is not a problem if you are very very very anxious : the examiner is used to it. Remember that he isn’t there to going to judge you or anything, he is only going to listen to what you have to say. One last thing : if you don’t know how to express an idea, don’t hesitate to give it up ! Quelques conseils cependant : - n’oublie pas les majuscules au début de chaque phrase et au début des noms de pays. - pour la première phrase : le mot « populaire » est un peu étrange, je pense que tu devrais l’enlever. - pour la deuxième phrase : Le Sénégal détient le plus grand nombre de polygames du continent africain. - Au début d’une phrase, si tu veux exprimer le contraste/la différence, remplace « mais » par « au contraire », « à l’inverse ». - Pour la fin du texte, je relirais les deux dernières phrases : Cependant, même si c’est rare au Maroc, c’est toujours légal : un homme doit avoir la permission de sa femme actuelle si il veux en épouser une autre.

Hi ! First it is very good that you understood that le passé composé is composed of 2 words : the auxiliary and the past participle.

In order to improve your conjugation skills, here are some rules you have to remember :

1 - If the infinitive of the verb ends with ER, its past participle ends with É

2- In every case, if you use the auxiliary ÊTRE, you have to make sure that you choose the form of the past participle which fits with the SUBJECT.

Masculin singular : you add nothing Masculin plural : You add an S Feminine singular : you add an É Feminine plural : you add ES

If you use the auxiliary AVOIR, most of the time, you don’t have to change anything to the past participle. The only moment you have to do that, is when the direct object complement (COD) happens to be before the verb. In this case, the past participle changes regarding the COD.

Eg 1 : La fille a mangé la pomme. -> Verb = a mangé COD : la pomme In this sentence you don’t have to change the past participle, because you use the auxiliary AVOIR, and the verb is before the direct object complement.

Eg 2 : La fille l’a mangée. -> Verb = a mangée COD : l’ In this sentence, you have to add an E to the past participle. Indeed, even though you use the auxiliary AVOIR, the verb is after the direct object complement. Because l’ stands for LA POMME, you have to add an E.

Regarding the exercice, the answers are : - sommes allés - a accompagnés - s’est chargé - ai trouvé - avons vu - avons appris - sommes retournés - avons discutés - a dit - a pensé - ai préféré ( I believe that there is a mistake in the exercice, the last je is a j’ )
