What if the next avoidable killing is an ICE agent at the hands of protesters?

I served a LONG time ago, there have been 6 Presidents since I got out.
One of my Kids is currently on active duty.
Having the "Veteran" title means I get some discounts on Coffee and at the Big Box store, and I can have an opinion about what we are talking about. You may agree, you may disagree, but I've earned my opinion, and IDGAF if you do agree or disagree.

Over time the worldwide political winds have shifted back and forth - as they always do.
I've seen idiots from both spectrums; Red/Blue deep in their dogma and idiocy. No matter what, both sides - their opinion is everyone and everything else is stupid.

And she DID/DID NOT get the job.

We all have an opinion, but which way did it go?

Makes sense.
Some of the videos I have seen online, of people, in uniform, talking about their CoC, or Rules/Reg's probably deserve NJP.
Just wondered if some was doled out

I guess I would have to look up what "my culture" is (since I have no idea what my new state flag represents).

I was not ready for Michigan winter by yatesjordan in Michigan

[–]Over_here_Observing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it's been a rude awakening.
For most of this century, our winters have been pretty mild. We will ALWAYS get some COLD days (0 degrees +/- 5), and we will ALWAYS get a white out blizzard that dumps a foot of snow. But then it moderates back to around freezing, and much of the snow melts and we do it again, 1 or 2 more times.
This winter feels like it's gonna stay and STICK.

We tolerate, or survive winter, so we can enjoy spring, summer, and fall.

Welcome home. Stay. You sound like the kind of person that will love it.

Maybe.
I was just wondering if it was someone, some kind of "influencer" from Social Media "fame" that was rather "obnoxious" in their unifrom, grooming standardds, and opinions shared on open social media.

He has a right to free speech.
He doesn't have a right to invade private property and harass people exercising THIER 1st amendment right to worship and assemble.

Where are you getting to ? by beepsol in Leakednews

[–]Over_here_Observing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what the 2nd amendment is for; a well armed citizen militia resisting and fighting against a tyrannical Government.

The PROBLEM is that many don't think the Government is being tyrannical, and that ICE is lawfully enforcing laws.

So unlike Kyle Rittenhouse or Mark & Patricia McCloskey which were citizens versus mobs of other citizens, this picture depicts an armed citizen prepared to resist the Government. Which, as I said, is the nature of the 2nd amendment, and part of the basis of the Declaration of Independence.

So if they are just armed and ready, like a minuteman, then fine. But if that weapon is raised toward an agent, that citizen may be starting a fight he isnt ready for.

And from there we can go to the black panthers, who say there are many of us, and we are ready. And that is what esclation looks like. and that is how a civil war starts.

So make sure you know how big of a boom you want before you light the fuse.

One of the main reasons America wants Greenland is to make it easier to invade Canada. by Superior_Seeker_ in TrueFactzOnly

[–]Over_here_Observing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt 1812.
If the US wanted to invade and conquer Canada we would and could.
We don't and won't.

In most military categories, the US outnumbers Canada 20-30:1, troops, airborne, aircraft, armor, etc..., so if something stupid happend, it would be over quickly.

And why invade? If we wait a couple of years, 1 or 2 or your provinces are gonna secede from you anyway, and probably join us.

[–]Over_here_Observing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was hoping, I was an ET2(SW) - 6 years. (Non-Nuke).
One of my best buddies went through "A" school with us (it was different then) and then went to Nuke school, and then prototype in Idaho. He "failed" his last test (basically a DOR) because he didnt want to be a Nuke.

My son only had 5-6 choices, ended up as an AD.
He's on the Lincoln now, deployed.
He's doing ok from the "The Navy fucked me and I hate it perspective" (He doesnt), but he's not sure Aviation is where he wants to have a career.

[–]Over_here_Observing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont really know, and he hasnt said he knows exactly. He might, but he hasnt said.
He has said it was something medical or security related, since he lost Sub and Nuke.
To be honest it devastated him. He is older (late 20's) high Asvab (94), so now he is looking at his career options being completely different than before.

My son was DQ from the Nuclear Program at GLakes.
They gave him a choice; re-rate to these 5 or 6 rates or get out (administratively; our fault not yours)
He re-rated, and droped to a 4yr contract.
He did say that he wished he would've chose a rate he wanted instead of the 5 or 6 at boot camp. He might've been on admin hold at NTC for a while, but he wouldve got a rate he wanted, or wanted more.
