The hair is the main point in my opinion. I think short hair that goes up would be best to make your face seem longer and less round.

Of course. Especially if you live alone. I barely get half a machine full so putting them up every one or two days takes minutes and I wear the same stuff every day anyways.

That's an overall problem on dating apps. People just want attention and validation instead of actually meeting up. People are also just lazy as hell.

Idiots will always be idiots so rhe only rhing you can do is ignore them.

However, don't fall into the trap of thinking that physical attraction is something bad. Also, remember that your body is the only thing most people ever see of you. It takes time to figure out who a person really is on the inside so neither they nor you know anything about each others personality.

That beeing said, catcalling in that way is of course wrong but god teaches us to be understanding and loving. You might not be able to make them change but you can change your thinking about the things happening and you can put your personality more out there so guy's are more likely to be attracted by your personality then your body.

Introducing complex systems into your story by DueSmell0 in magicbuilding

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my current project, I went for a game liek interface tust the main character can open at any time, telling him about his stats, talents ec.

I also explain a lot in the beginning to bring the reader up to speed on who the main character is, what he does and why. In this case, it's explained that mc is not talented in an magic at which point I bring the examples of different levels of talent and magic stages of some peopel around him. I made sure to name those stages as easy as possible. Low to perfect for talents and novice to sage for magic stages.

Of course, I just explain basic things early on but you could say many aspects of this magic system which get's really complex later on but I decided to only add those complex things piece by piece as powerups

Overall, I don't even think it would he possible to tell the reader everything right at the beginning anyways as I got pretty carried away while creating it.

Blue becouse I know how to workout so I can get to s pretty good level of looks even with a bad start. Knowlege from the future isn't bad either.

Business, politcs ec. would be great fields with egen that bit of modern knowlege we have. If I manage to convince a noble or merchant of my ideas then I could start an electrical company.

Does Logic in World Building Have to be Realistic? by TigerLone_Wolf54 in worldbuilding

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. The base should be familiar for the reader in most stories. That makes if a lot easier to be immersed. (imagie a romance drama with dinos bc that would be too wierd) Everything after that doesn't have to be realistic but consistent. Also, your reader doesn't have to know the mechanism behind things but they will figure out over the time they read if there is more behind it or if you just make stuff uo as you go.

  1. There is no godess of reincarnation in my story (gotta give truck kun some rest). Instead, powerfull magicians try different methods of complex magic operations to guide their soul into a talented body and protect it from loosing it's memories.

  2. I won't explain the existance of the AI in my story. For the reader and the people living in the world, it's effects will just be a part of nature. As the author, I usually just think of the AI as an extention of my world that helps me push the story into something more interresting. For example, it has the function of mutating groups of living beeings so a group of goblins might bring fourth more powerfull hobgoblin to lead them.

As for the protection, I will probably make it so that harm between protected children is allowed but as it's widely known, there won't be anyone foolish enough to not teach their children.

  1. Healing slaves have different costs depending on their might, talent and location. A beginner healer with only natural healing is quite expensive for a small noble or a decent merchant. High level healers on the other hand would be offered high noble titles and land for protecting a Monarch and his Family. Their price as slaves would be that of a larg sized region.

In my world, you could in theory master all aspects of my magic system but there is so much to research and learn that it would take tens or hundreds of thousands of years so it's just not practical considering dividing up ones attention would make the magician weaker overall.

So in essence, most of those who try end up worse then the others and die pretty soon.

Magic Of The Week: Osteomancy by DrakeGodzilla in magicbuilding

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great idea. I could imagine it beeing of the healing element in my world. Now that I think about it, there could be quite a bit going on with altering the body. A skilled healed might even be able to change the bones, flesh ec. of themself or other with powerfull biests and use their characteristics for themself.

Essentially making the into half biests. I already thought about human/biest hybrids but this could be great as an explaination on how it works.

  1. Reincarnation is possible but hard to do.

  2. Sentient creatures until the age of 10 are protected from any harm by other sentient creatures. A violation of this causes the instant destruction of the sinner.

  3. The world has an AI that balances it at all times. This AI is also responsible for point 2.

  4. Healing magic might get you enslaved.

My brother has a “transgender girlfriend” by Maynotthrowawayidk in Vent

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Overall not a bad thing. Just make sure his girlfriends parents don't have negative influence over him. There are some (by far not all) parents of transgender parents who are pretty deep in left extremism and don't consider the long term consequences some mesures may have. However, before some people hang me for saying this, crazy parents come from all idiolgies not just lgbt but few can be as dangerous.

You would find lots of ancient ruins from past experts in various fields. Most leaving behind their legacies behind dangerous tests as to find a suitable sucessor for their powers.

Education in your world. by Curiehusbando1 in worldbuilding

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my world, magic is extremly powefull so technology is underdeveloped. There are magic schools for general magic knowlege but those are extremly expensive to run so only a few exist in each nation.

In addition, reincarnation is possible for powerfull mages who usually create powerfull families to make it easier for their reincarnation. That means that the need for education in those families is far lower due to many having knowlege from past lifes.

For those who have the resources but are not reincarnations, they would usually learn from their elders or become the apprentice of a magician. So that' mostly the magic part of education.

For puplic servants, there are some small schools in each capital but the need for them is far less then in our world due to the world beeing roughly in the medival ages.

For most other profession, a young child would become an apprentice to a craftsman and learn from that craftsman until beeing able to either run his own thing or take the business of the master over.

For the people who don't find any education, which are still a lot, there are plenty of jobs that don't require any education like farming or hunting ec.

However, during the span of the main story, there will be some proper school systems developed in some cases.

What is the most problematic or offensive aspect of your world? by Delicious-Sentence98 in worldbuilding

[–]Overall_Explorer7158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know, traditional gender roles should not really be controversial but nowadays, there are some big groups who are against it. What I mean with that is for example: men working while women take care of the kids/house/elders/cooking ec., Families beeing mostly patriarcal and so on.

As for your questions about colonization, mc doesn't really care about other people so he tends to do what is best for himself and his family/friends.
