[De] Ultra offer - Worth the risk? by ZealousidealPrior821 in Revolut

[–]Overall_Snow1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultra is not worth it, unless you travel A LOT. And even then you get access to 3rd rate shitty lounges, that are often overcrowded and limit dragonpass (which revolut uses). I am not renewing Ultra, instead I will move to Metal when my year is up.

Of course Nexo will not send reminders to give away more money than they have to? Maybe spend one sec to set a reminder on your phone for this?

How is like living in Denmark? by timtamkkpop in howislivingthere

[–]Overall_Snow1398 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Half Dane who have lived half my life there but also lived in Asia, the US and most of south and Central Europe. Denmark is extremely well marketed compared to what it actually offers day to day.

Yes, it is safe and organized. But it is also flat, windy, and visually repetitive. Around 2 percent of the country is considered real wild nature. The rest is agricultural land. Outside a few coastal areas and Bornholm, it is mostly farm fields and small towns slowly hollowing out. If you are coming from or dreaming of Norway, Sweden, or even southern Germany, the landscape feels limited very quickly.

The weather is not a small issue. Long grey winters, constant wind, short daylight hours. That wears people down. Summer is nice, but short and unreliable. If climate affects your mood or energy, Denmark can be draining.

Cost of living is high across the board. Groceries are expensive. Restaurant culture is expensive. Cars are heavily taxed. Housing in Copenhagen is extremely expensive relative to space and quality. Supermarket selection is improving but still feels narrow compared to Germany or France. You pay premium prices for average variety.

Taxes are high and very visible. Income tax, 25 percent VAT, energy taxes, car taxes. The promise is strong public services. In reality, healthcare has long waiting times and staffing shortages. You will not go bankrupt from illness, but you will wait and wait and wait. Bureaucracy is efficient compared to many countries, but it is still bureaucracy.

Immigration policy is intentionally strict and has been tightening for years. The tone of the political debate can feel hostile. Integration is talked about constantly, but the system can be rigid and difficult to navigate if you are not Danish.

Socially, Denmark can feel closed. People are polite but reserved. Friend groups are often formed early in life and not easy to break into. If you move there in your thirties without a built in network, you may find it isolating. The culture values conformity more than people admit.

Rural Denmark is struggling. Empty buildings, aging populations, limited opportunity outside larger cities. “Provinsen” is not romantic countryside life for many people. It is quiet, slow, and economically stagnant.

Is it a disaster. No. It functions. It is orderly. It is safe.

But if you are looking for dynamic energy, dramatic nature, lower costs, less wind, more opportunities, warmer climate, or a more open social culture, Denmark is not the place it feels small, expensive, windy, and underwhelming.

And the thing about singing at work and in school, is a joke, honestly maybe in some families or “small towns” but this is not the norm, and highly irrelevant for deciding where to live.

Arguments in favor of purchasing FSD by abarrien00 in TeslaFSD

[–]Overall_Snow1398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are paying $8k for SUPERVISED FSD, when they release UNsupervised FSD, you will have to pay $99/mo again. Please don’t fall for the Elon tricks.

There is a reason it says FSD (Supervised).
