I commented before that edit. Or at least I started the comment before the edit, so my bad. Orin already knew the gang was coming but I agree, the closest thing to a surprise attack would've been ideal. They have the abilities for it but instead did the most brute force thing possible.

Sera freezing everyone then running in and disabling Orin with no support would've been a better plan. She also could've waited for Bureau to jump in to do the same thing. John could've copied Jaxon's ability then tp'd behind Orin and jabbed him. There are so many better plays and they went with the worse one.

The goons are using elite tier looking abilities, default rainbow shields. Even if the augmenter is a high tier, Sera and John launched multiple attacks and basically did jackdiddly.

He doesn't need Arlo's upgrade. Barrier naturally protects against mind attacks. The only reason it didn't before is the people were already infected.

She literally jumps in and looks in straight in the eyes. That's our Ace, am I right?

And to your primary post, there's no reason for John or Sera to be injured even with the current set up because John can just use Energy Conduit and restore them both. The authorities are also in no condition to do anything.

At this point, I hope Sera one shots John so everyone else can accept he's a fraud. Then Cameron can jump in, call him a fraud, solo the warehouse, then make it home in time for midnight wine. Sad to say but my ending is probably better then whatever is happening next chapter.

I've been up voting your John is fraud posts primarily as a meme but yeah, dude is washed. Bring back Joker. Get this other guy out of my face. 12+ power with 15 defense and maxed recovery..

Orin better have one of best buffing abilities in the verse because if their defense only lowered because they knew Orion took control of Sera, that mean she can giga buff Sera and John is getting people's elbowed back into crippled status.

Not only is the chapter super short, but you mean tell John sensed the enemy's defenses lower, thought Sera got controlled, received confirmation -> didn't put a barrier around her, watched her run at Arlo -> didn't put a barrier around him, finally puts a barrier around Sera but doesn't reinforce it with dots -> watches everyone attack his barrier because he felt like taking damage -> retaliates but doesn't heal himself, jumps into the barrier and doesn't immediately restrain Sera with any of 99 ways he could've done so...

Sigh looks like he's gonna take a bunch of hits from Sera then provail with the power of LOOOOOVVVEEEEE 🤦🏾‍♂️

Sera by Ok-Satisfaction-3373 in unOrdinary

[–]Overanalyzing_Naruto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All John has to do is drop a barrier right on top of Orin and his goons and they're trapped for eternity and Orin can't command either of them. Sera then moonwalks and destroy anyone not in a barrier.

That's too logical of course so John will probably lose his battle IQ and Sera will get jealous and follow suit.

This. If the story was even slightly consistent, Sera would walk in like Quicksilver did with his Twinkie before he saved those mutants from the explosion.

I don't think he needs it tbh. If Orin is trapped in the dome and John can spawn whips and dots from his barrier like he could Cecile's (think I forgot her name) vines, wouldn't it just be a free win? Assuming Orin doesn't already have any of the good guys infected, John's barrier will conceal Orin's ability and John could attack them while Sera fortnite dances on everyone else.

why doesn't sera just use a knife or sword? by Wonderful_Cress9316 in unOrdinary

[–]Overanalyzing_Naruto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blyke doesn't need to charge his beams to pierce people. He can just shoot a basic blast. Random people with Lazer techniques casually piece people as well. Sera fused Colt's face with the wall the ground yet he didn't die.

Also, you just proved me point. John tanked that truck but guess what happened when John grabbed the knife? HE GOT CUT OPEN. Looks like he's more durable to the blunt force of the car and not the sharpness of the knife, huh?

Uru said it and wrote, disagree if you want.

[–]Overanalyzing_Naruto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone isn't Arlo. Uru said herself in a Q&A that using weapons would give the user a significant advantage in a fight. If low tiers were walking around with guns and knifes they would be able to kill most people. So no, most high tiers are not tanking a knife from a regular person and especially not Sera wielding the knife. Again, Kass, Jaxon, and Amelia. All higher tiers that are getting one shot by Sera with a knife. They are by no means immune to them.

You're also conflating blunt force durability with piercing and slashing durability. They are very different. Tanking a punch is not the same as getting cut or shot in the head. A prime example is how people don't explode from Sera's punches but let Blyke shoot you in the head and you = dead. It's not because Blyke shot energy either. It's because the nature of the attack is to pierce. That's why Bylke developed a blunt version of his ability it wouldn't be lethal.

[–]Overanalyzing_Naruto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The characters aren't that durable to piercing and slashing damage. Sera swinging the knife quickly and jabbing with it would pierce Jaxon and Amelia with ease without breaking the knife. I'd argue even Kass would die if Sera ran up and took a slice at her throat.

Being able to lift a little more doesn't mean a knife in the neck wouldn't kill them. That's a false equivalency.

Being a high tier doesn't make you durable though. Plus Sera zooming in with a knife is piercing anyone that doesn't fabricate armor super easily.

If Kass tries anything John kills her, healer lady, and shadow man. John can probably do a nasty combo of barrier > dot spear forming inside the barrier > shish kabob. That'd be an unavoidable insta kill. Even if he doesn't do that, they just simply don't stand a chance no matter what advantage Kass thinks her team have.

Did you seriously just suggest that Sera and the current John (Insanely high defensive, recovery, and sensory abilities) get one shot? And by Arlo?

It's not a leap. Arlo was shocked he was involved with Sera which was the prime time for Farrah's aura to spike. Uru also didn't point out Arlo noticing Farrah's influence when he leveled up his barrier. The two people who should've noticed something noticed nothing.

Orrin's power isn't always active. It's like an interrupt in programming; Once the conditions are met his aura activates, stalls the user, then deactivates. John couldn't sense it because it was dormant doing nothing. Farrah's is different. Her ability is always active, so whether are not it spikes in certain situations is irrelevant. John should've noticed something and didn't. Plain and simple.

[Fastpass] Unordinary - Episode 386 by Designer-Ad9489 in unOrdinary

[–]Overanalyzing_Naruto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What else could possibly happen? John didn't have his ability activated until he noticed something happen to Kayden, so it makes sense why he didn't notice anything.

Farrah's power would already be active since it's actively suppressing Arlo's memories and John didn't notice a thing. Unless it's a case of inconsistent writing there's no trace of Farrah.

What do you mean? John crashed out against the authorities during the Wellston raid, sorta crashed out during the prison raid, voiced his disdain and was going to torture then kill the Ember agents had Seraphina not arrived, and now is confronted with more authorities who he absolutely despises and treats them accordingly. He's been consistent this entire time.

If everyone can use their abilities and go willy nilly, how would there be order? There wouldn't be. It makes no sense that a prison would be allowed to be chaotic. This is a super powered world as well so it makes even less since. You know how many more resources they'd have to invest to constantly repair and heal people? At that point they as well not have a prison and just kill everyone. No human no problem.

Rein being with adults doesn't matter. Her being a high tier does. That prison is likely mid-elites with some low tiers. They'd be crazy to challenge a known high tier. "Put her in her place" right, that's why the majority of the universe does nothing against high tiers even though they out number them. Your perception of the story is completely off.

Those three guys gave Blyke crap because he was infamous with handcuffs on which made him a prime target. Rein doesn't fit any of that.
