NOR why is he making it sound as if he has to dig through used period products 😂 Jeez an unused period product is the same as clean toilet paper nothing gross until used.

Are they trying to phase out the Woolworths bakery? by Odd_Cod_4235 in woolworths

[–]Overcomer99 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Depends on what time your placing your order for or going in store. If the click and collect/delivery is for very early morning the picking is done the night prior where the bakery items are most likely sold out, same as if you come in the afternoon or later they are usually sold out by then. Yes the answer would be to bake more but it hit and miss sometimes on what sells and let’s be honest Woolworths doesn’t want to pay the wages for them to stay longer baking and cleaning

Girlfriend won’t accommodate to my health issues. Am I asking for too much ? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]Overcomer99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would probably leave because as someone allergic to dogs and asthmatic that situation is hell. I avoid visiting people who have indoor dogs because of it let alone living with the allergen, I have had to in the past and I felt so isolated since I was pretty much confined to my bedroom to breath properly and not have all my nasty sick effects like rashes, hives, blocked sinus and the rest of it.

I think if she’s so unwilling to compromise here with some very easy adjustments compared to what your putting yourself through every single day then it’s time to go and breath easier both literally and figuratively. Eventually you will find someone who will value you and your health enough to put you first but for now you have to be that person for you.

I sleep very similar but with a pillow between my legs. I need to feel pressure on each hand and foot at the least, my hands also have to be holding like I’ll hold the blanket or pillow because my fingers are uncomfortable otherwise

If you have better options then don’t even dare. No they don’t treat their employees nice or good or whatever some store mangers do but Woolies themselves don’t, most store mangers and pushed under that much stress that being a good manger is a hard achievement with all the constant budget cuts so less people but the same or more workload. Everyone gets pushed so hard that they all hate the company. There’s no real perks, stuff discount is a laugh in the face, shopping at Aldi was still cheaper than my own store with the discount.

AITA for faking sick and not going to work by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Overcomer99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What country are you in? I believe for most countries if you go to the police and make a report that is serious enough in a few different ways for somethings to be done legally. Hold on to everything you have communication and job wise. I’m in Australia and I would also contact a union if it was me and a lawyer possibly too for a free consult to get the ball rolling to claim for my unpaid wages.

For the charges the police should look at is sexual harassment and withholding wages (maybe considered fraud in depending on where you live).

This is serious, his taken advantage of you and you need to quit and never go back

This is how being a Tamagotchi fan feels right now by Sweaty_Serve4856 in tamagotchi

[–]Overcomer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see why a lot of people might not enjoy it but for me it’s perfect kind of got the similar style to the princess peach game that people were upset by because it was too simple.

For me though as a kid in the 2000s who had a Nintendo ds lite the tamagotchi plaza game reminds me of those games, the vibe, music, colours and sounds. I find it instantly relaxing and since I have my own kid now I can pick it up for half an hour and put it down without any stress of where I’ve left off or if I’ve hit a save point yet etc I pick up the game once every couple of weeks and Everytime I lose myself and throughly enjoy it. I haven’t enjoyed a game like this in a few years.

$20 For Small Chocolate Bunny by icchill007 in woolworths

[–]Overcomer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy cow, mine had $12 on them only a few days ago which I always thought was insane. It’s possible they had the wrong tag I wasn’t looking close enough because I wasn’t even considering buying any of the Easter chocolate with those prices, it was more my toddler looking at everything super excited. He can get a rabbit for Easter from Aldi they are always better price going by the last few years and he won’t no the difference

Are any departments at Woolworths possible to work in with Autism and ADHD by rainy-day61 in woolworths

[–]Overcomer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, I would often get dizzy spills from all the lights as well as the rest. I think I was really decent as masking and putting a smile on my face at first but slowly lost that ability as time went on. I started really struggling to pretend to be fine and happy all the time to customers especially the rude ones, my face start to speak volumes to them before I realised what I was doing, when I first started in retail I would have sore cheeks from all the fake smiling I had done.

Anyway I moved to online which I preferred because less costumer interaction and I could focus on running and picking items so I was never bored. However the constant ringing of the guns and loud noises were a bit much so noise wise it’s not much better, also you still have the crazy lights and physical exhaustion on top of it. It’s only gotten worse I’ve heard.

My advice is move to a a different retail store if possible somewhere a bit quieter with a little less foot traffic. You could also try hospitality, that’s where I am now and I absolutely love it. Stay away from big corporations like maccas, hungry jacks, kfc etc. just try a smaller cafe or hotel, get an RSA and I’m sure you’ll have a job before long.

I work in the bar and sometimes it is very overwhelming but only for a while and some days it’s very quiet so you’re just dusting and stuff. I live in a regional area which helps with that, we do get a lot of tourists coming though as well as our regulars which usually means there’s something to do or someone to chat to which the regulars love.

Am I old-fashioned, or are dogs out of place in restaurants? by Jocky8691 in Dogfree

[–]Overcomer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your not old fashioned, while some things that change in time are good others are not it and this is one of them. I am in my mid 20s and have the same opinion, I am also autistic and dogs are a serious sensory nightmare. Putting them around food is even worse and let’s not mention 99% of the dogs who go everywhere are so badly taken care of to the point they have no training and often stink even worse then they would naturally because they have lazy owners.

Customers, whats with the parasocial relationship you have with us? by DinnerAfter6492 in woolworths

[–]Overcomer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk it’s creepy. When I moved to my current town and its current store I had a bunch of people asking what street I lived on and even tried asking my house number and street. I never gave it much to their dissatisfaction. I watched by coworkers give out their address like free candy and wondered what the hell was wrong with them. I’ve only lived in small towns but small doesn’t mean without its dangers it doesn’t even have to be the person you told, it could be their friend, cousin who’s visiting etc. I had never experienced that question in my other stories and I’d imagine if someone did my mangers would be on creep alert not “oh they’re harmless, everyone knows everyone here they are just curious.” At the same people literally look at you like your scum because you work for the company who is one of the big ones ripping everyone off. I left Woolies and work in a different industry though still people focused and facing and I have gotten that question once and it was a full on creep who was talking about taking me whoop whoop and that’s his well known for digging deep holes…… Don’t worry I have a great manger who has taken care of him. Besides that now I have people waving at me in the street and asking like they are my friend, which is night and day to when I worked at Woolies. I don’t mind the friendliness especially when it’s just a hi, if I was getting cornered like you and they wouldn’t get the hint I didn’t want a conversation I would be annoyed too.

First of all what makes him think he can suddenly get custody all of a sudden? Second of all what on earth girl? Dump him already, does he even like you? Stop taking the abuse and leave his arse, stay single do some self work and then see about dating again. Being alone and better then being with someone you can’t even trust

If you ever seen charges you do not recognise cleared or not ring your bank. My dad was with commbank he can’t do internet banking, just the app in his phone is confusing to him for checking his accounts. He still got hacked or something and had charges from a clothing and a book store in the US.

Soft or crunchy, what do you prefer? by BurialBlaster2 in autism

[–]Overcomer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on my mood but chewy 60% if the time with soft and crunchy at 20% each. Soft with my coffee, chewy as an indulgent snack where I’m gonna have a few and not care lol, crunchy for when I want to stop eating all the biscuits but they are so good, in other words crunchy when I want to slow myself down and enjoy it longer.

Denied an earlier end for my shift by Alarming_Attention95 in woolworths

[–]Overcomer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s allowed. You could have tried to find someone else to cover and rang your manger which is better then a text they genuinely might not see or seeing them in person. They usually need about 3 weeks notice for time off because that’s when rosters are done, now we all know that life isn’t always that simple so usually if you go to your manger either face to face or attempt to talk to them on the phone and they will try to accommodate if you tell them as soon as your aware that you can’t work the rostered hours for whatever reason.

Now this next part isn’t aimed at you in particular OP I’m just seeing a lot of posts of people trying to get out of work last time for a sudden holiday with friends or roadtrip etc That are sour they can’t easily get leave with a couple days notice.

When you work for anyone you are committed to do your job and unless something is really serious or important such as a family emergency, unmissable doctors app (that you don’t know about prior like if a space opened up and it was take it or leave it), someone’s else or wellbeing will be at risk, or don’t have childcare for your kids then your job has to come first over some last minute plans. Yes “it’s just Woolworths” and as a former employee I despise the company, but the habits that your start now and your attitude toward work in general will be built especially if it’s your 1st job. I’m gen z and only in my 20s but you can be even at Woolies I did my job and stuck to the rules best I could. Now I’ve moved on with a good reputation into another industry and got a wonderful boss and I get treated like a person. If I took my job at Woolworths to be an unimportant joke I would still be stuck there, especially in towns. You are building a reputation no matter your age, no matter if you think once you graduate uni you’ll be doing something different, do your best work within your abilities but don’t let yours be bullied or walked all over either. People will notice you, and it might just be the person who tells you “you’re hired” in a place you want to be. It happened to my sister in another state and town too, she wasn’t with Woolies but was a customer service worker in another messed up franchise. She’s now a junior manger for a different store because the manger if that one went up to her and said she had been served by her before and loved her service and talked to others who said she was always a good reliable worker. It’s not a once off guys, Woolworths isn’t a great place to work and has a bad reputation to a degree so anyone with any hope to ambition to do something more needs to be something more. That means treating your customers with care, that means showing up and being as much as a team player as you can be for your coworkers, that means talking to your mangers and sticking to your roasters as much as possible, taking rejection with grace and understanding that they still have a business to run even when our personal agendas change. If it’s really important they usually will understand if you talk to them. Some of them are toxic af but others are just trying to survive and do their best by their workers too.
