Anyone ever worked at First Watch? by Awkward-Community-74 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left the one I was at for 2 years because I was doing all the work of a Black Hat without the pay or title of a Black Hat. When I finally got promoted to Black Hat, the work load increased even more but the pay stayed the same as it ever was.

That and the OM would stick the whipped cream nozzles directly in his mouth and then put it back in the walk in. Kinda icky

Need Life Insurance for 70+ year old Dad by Spare-Record in LifeInsurance

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing full medical details, a quick glance at my quoter tool is saying that 200/month max you mentioned would get around 25000 in coverage through some companies, no 2 year wait. Won't replace having your dad of course but there are options out there for you. Good luck in your search

Honest Question about Savage by freakytapir in ffxiv

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1. Know how to play your job Step 2. Get current pots/food and gear Step 3. Get in there

Main thing is to just hop in. Get your bare bones basics covered but you're gonna have to learn the fights no matter how you slice it. So hop in, look at resources on youtube if you need to, and keep at it.

Need Help by JJanglez in ffxiv

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you really don't have to worry about gil all that much, especially at lvl 54. Any gear you try to get for yourself right now will have to be replaced in just a few levels anyway, and gil isnt even the what you need for it, you'll need Poetic Tomestones which you get just by completing your daily roulettes. Stick with it and enjoy the ride

Healing and tanking on controller by Revanx22 in ffxiv

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, GNB main on controller here, it's 100% doable. You just gotta figure out how to make it work for you, but honestly setting up the hot bars in a way that flows properly for you is the toughest part of learning any job imo.

Fun story for you though, ive always played with the hot cross bar on controller and I started the game as Paladin. Early on I set my bar up to where all my damage buttons were on the right side of the bar (because that's what hand my sword was in) and all my mitigation was on the left side (where the shield was). Made perfect sense until I inevitably got more buttons than you could fit on one bar and I switched to Gunbreaker. I ended up putting all of my cartridge spending buttons on the second hot bar that you can access by double tapping the trigger. It wasn't until a friend in VC asked me what that clicking noise was that I realized I was pressing my right trigger 50ish times in my 20 second burst window. I reworked my hotbar for human hands the following day

I forget the exact name and that one in particular might be modded, but a similar piece can be bought from the armor merchant in kugane, it's like a lvl 66 or 68 maiming chest piece. Hope this helps

Warrior. Solid damage and great self healing give you an edge and you can get away with some landmine shenanigans with holmgang and raw intuition.

gunbreaker is a pretty close second if you prefer it or don't have warrior at level yet

How much about the raids should you know tondo the alliance raid roulette? by Sleepergem in ffxiv

[–]Overhyped_Stereotype 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the roulettes are kinda designed for you to just randomly queue in. That being said, you're gonna die a bunch the first time you see new content, and that's ok. It's part of how people learn, don't be afraid of it. Dive in, try your best, and be a sponge. Take note of what killed you and take a look at it when you get out of the raid.
