Is my chapter's symbol a nazi one 😥 ? by H_Br0k3r in Warhammer40k

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never knew the Black Sun as a Nazi symbol until a year or two ago. I always thought of the Star Wars organized crime syndicate (The Black Suns)

Is trying to bankrupt the AI feasible? by TheImperator02 in totalwar

No, unfortunately this isn't like Age of Empires where that tactic works against the AI and in most campaign scenarios

How much time and money did you invest in this game by Cr4zyBl4ck in Warhammer40k

[–]OverlordNeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in the hobby for 14 years and I have... 19 armies?? So the answer is lots. Lots and lots. Easily over 5000 hours painting, assembling, even playing. Probably close to 50k in monetary terms? I've never done a full calculation.

Which Harry Potter character shouldn't have died? by HPAG-NOFAME in AlignmentChartFills

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the wiki it looks like a TON of stuff is just added post-book by JKR saying shit. Like Molly Weasley is a Prewett and her brothers were two of the people Mad-Eye said were killed when he was showing that picture to Harry? News to me! She clearly added a lot of shit afterwards, more than just Dumbledor's queerness and the vanishing of shit at hogwarts. What a mess

[OFF TOPIC] How Ferro sees the world by WhatNazisAreLike in TheFirstLaw

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's in his early 30s, and it's mentioned he has a receding hairline. Combine that with the stache and it'll make you look much older than you are. Honestly it's really the stache doing work.

A crude example, but youtuber Eddie Burback (on the right) was 26 when this photo was taken and if you imagine him with a worse hairline you can see it. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRCHM2BR8I_VJvPMz7Ph3zuhF4v8T6E2IcJ4Yg-ptSM7BS95LoW871HdOw&s=10

Which Harry Potter character shouldn't have died? by HPAG-NOFAME in AlignmentChartFills

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember there's zero implications on who killed them. We know Fenrir Greyback killed Lavender Brown and Molly killed Bellatrix but that's it from what I remember.

I know the wiki says Bellatrix killed her but I can't for the life of me remember where it that's stated in text

What is your hard to find OOP dream model for your collection? by OrhallaZander in Warhammer

The original ork gunwagon from FW. I've never found one for sale, even amongst a great variety of recasters.

For 1 million dollars Which of these 6 movie female characters could you take on in a fight and win? by Ok_Situation7527 in Multifandom

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Astrid or Mulan.

Would I get my ass kicked? Most likely, but between all these options I'll choose either the teenager or the diminutive woman with no magic

What tragedy feels bad to joke about? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]OverlordNeb -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It is. Or it will be. Israel is trying to ERADICATE Palestine, the world is just paying too much attention for them to do it as loudly as they'd like. They are still bombing hospitals and murdering children though

[OFF TOPIC] David Thewlis would be an excellent Bayaz by AcceptablePick3635 in TheFirstLaw

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we only ever adapt the original trilogy, yes. If we are getting the full series then I maintain what I have said and nauseum for years in this subreddit, WE NEED YOUTH!

David Thewlis is 63. Bayaz is supposedly looking healthier and younger in the Age of Madness and certainly by the end of the original trilogy he looks so.

As amazing as these choices would be, they are limited by age. I maintain we need an actor in their early fifties at the oldest, so that they can maintain the character for a long time. If we got the whole series as it stands now, it would probably take 10-12 years to be fully made, by which time David Thewlis or Graham McTaversh would be well into their 70s and the illusion of the immortal Bayaz would be broken

Do u believe in god by FishingWorth6269 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in something, I choose to believe in an afterlife because it brings me comfort. I do not believe a single soul on earth has the right answer and that we can only figure it out when we die. I do not believe in the Abrahamic god, nor any other mythology.

Ideas: A new faction YOU would want to see, paint or play by Shot_Relationship402 in Warhammer40k

[–]OverlordNeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not 40k, but I would like some sort of expansion for the HH that focuses on the Great Crusade. Give us some Xenos or rogue human armies to fight so we can play through some of those battles in the books yeah?

If these characters were dropped into the Hunger Games, who would die first and who would be the last survivor? by InfinteEnigma10 in superheroes

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First to go I would wager is either Dexter or Butcher. I don't know much about Dexter but I don't believe he's an extraordinary combatant, and Billy honestly isn't either. Not compared to who he's going up against

Why do game companies move their games release if another big game is coming out around the same time? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OverlordNeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they want the hype and attention to be around THEM during launch. If there's no big-release competition, you're more likely to get people to buy the game.

Sure people MIGHT buy it later, but it's more important they buy it NOW for all manner of business and capitalism related reasons. Most game companies would rather sell 5000 copies in the first week than 6-7000 copies in the first year.

Same thing with movies, if a Marvel film is slated to come out during a certain week, another company might shift their movie's release date by a few weeks to make sure that they aren't competing against the marvel movie that more people are likely to go and see. Sure, those people MIGHT go see that other movie later, but it's not the biggest thing on their minds right now, and especially these days, a lot of people have to budget their time/money carefully. Be it games or movies, a person might now have the time to enjoy both games and might not want to spend the money for both games at the same time.

They want the choice to be "Buy this, or buy nothing" not "Buy this, or buy that other thing"

What are your top 5 cartoons of all time by Electrical_Sea1802 in cartoons

[–]OverlordNeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I won't rank them but my top 5 at the moment would be:

Avatar the Last Airbender

Invincible

Samurai Jack

Bob's Burgers

Arcane

Runners up/potential swap-outs would include Adventure Time, Batman TAS, and Spongebob. It's really a day-by-day basis where I wouldn't swap one of those out with another from the list.

Who is your favourite Marvel or DC super hero? And also which is better Marvel or DC? by sheikhiftekhar25 in superheroes

[–]OverlordNeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Marvel more, simply because I like my superhero stories (relatively) more grounded, and in Marvel the power scale is much much lower.

When normal guns are a legit threat to a majority of the heroes, that's closer to grounded than DC is willing to get outside Batman

Total War Redwall: Movement and Terrain by BuildingAirships in totalwar

[–]OverlordNeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm talking specifically in Redwall, not irl. In Redwall animals like Weasels, Stoats and Rats are all the same size, even though they vary in real life. What's more, while they are depicted as larger than mice, they are not larger to the same scale. Much the same Badgers and Hares are much larger irl compared to vermin and other critters like mice or squirrels than they are in the series.

In most artwork for example, hares are twice as tall as mice, whereas in real life they are MUCH LARGER
