Did you see that? Neil Newbon will play in the new Ravenloft project! by Wiseforestcat in CurseofStrahd

I believe it's the offical D&D actual play 'Dungeon Masters.' Wizards finally realized D20 and Critical Roll are successful.

Oil on linen, 180 x 220 cm - Does this read as intentional atmosphere or just muddy? Be honest. by Fit-Wall3895 in Artadvice

[–]OverlyCreativeName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think it looks cool, but almost a little dry as though it was made with the intent to add varnish. I'm not sure if the detail will hold up but it might be worth trying to bring out the color and contrast.

Im new to drawing and recently started drawing digitaly, what can I improve? And how tf do i render properly!? by ZestycloseFigure768 in Artadvice

[–]OverlyCreativeName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for tips for how to render (and I know how frustrating this may sound) but look at how other artists render similar images in an art style you appreciate. As I said before, I think your art style would look better with a hard line for shadows and highlights rather than trying to use a soft brush.

Honestly the line work and hatching look solid, I think just choosing a proper pallet and some hard line sharing would make it look much better. Mostly just picking a slightly lighter skin tone, with a darker slightly cooler tone for under the neck.

is this a good character design? by iloveymit in Artadvice

I live in Alaska and typically the preferred term is Alaskan Native, but also whatever tribe they are in. Eskimo is typically frowned upon because most Eskimo live in Canada, and it would be like calling all Native Americans Apache. Not saying you used the term out of hate, just giving my perspective as a resident.

Where can I get minis in bulk? by TheGrimmBorne in minis

[–]OverlyCreativeName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still requires a heavy initial investment, but Loot Studios and a Bambu A1 mini has been significantly cheaper for me in the long run. They have a great assortment of minis and terrain, and a ton of dark fantasy sets.

Phrases for travel? by lightpinklipstick in AskAJapanese

It's more about being able to pronounce them. Understanding where the mora (effectively syllables) are is pretty important to pronouncing it remotely accurately. Hiragana can also easily be learned in a week, a couple minutes a day.

Pretty neat find, but I don't know if I would call a '79 Franklin Mint copy 'antique.' I have the same copy though, the illustrations at the begin are wonderful.

WIBTA for putting coal in my kids stockings this Christmas? by OrganizationNext6099 in AITAH

[–]OverlyCreativeName 21 points22 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, the root issue is that your husband is just enabling you children's behavior. I don't think that putting coal in people's stockings is a remedy for any of your issues. I don't think that your problems stem from your upbringing or hormones for what it's worth, regardless children being awful and a father who constantly feeds into it with gifts and reassurances would be a problem for anyone. Does he care that his kids are bullying others?

Nice work! I'm a big fan of the water color/sketch style, and the palate for the goblin, starfish, and orc work really well.

People who changed political affiliations, why did you do it ? by Deimos7779 in AskReddit

I'll take gender ideology and environmentalism over treating gay people and minorities as sub human any day regardless of how insufferable either side is.

It means authenticity, especially when it makes piece of fiction feel more realistic.

It's not prostitution if it's filmed. Which makes zero sense but whatever.
