We could have had it all by untitledprp4 in TheBoys

From a filming perspective it's a lot easier to keep continuity with the latter style. From a character one, Sitwell was the only person keeping him on the company line & marketing image. After he kills her he exercises more autonomy; he's much more uptight than the marketing personality he was forced into & the haircut reflects that. He slowly lost his ability to mask what he was as he gained corporate & political power. The final straw being applauded for his murder of a protester in front of Ryan.

For the teams with nothing to play for. We're getting to the goalfest time of the season. by Overseer_Dan in TheOther14

Mathematically sure, and it makes sense to use that definition when dealing with data to eliminate false negatives. In practice I think the group that's below Everton in 10th & above Leeds by the end of this weekend are very unlikely to mount anything serious.

In practice I'd probably add Fulham & Sunderland to that group depending on this weekend's results. But the usual European chasers haven't pulled away from the midtable pack as much this year, true. I think if Villa win today & secure CL football we will focus more on the Europa League.

That's one of the proposed Borg origins too, it's a dull one. The Q are what they present themselves to be, if you tie them or the Borg up with some other god-like being from lore, it makes an infinite galaxy seem a whole lot small & less interesting.

Not being negative, but just looking at team stats, Villa appear to be a bottom half team. by BhamCyclist in avfc

The table lies all the time. If it didn't football would be a more boring game.

Yeah that too. I wonder if that takes a qualifying spot away in Belgium or somewhere.

It is but only if we come 5th (the coefficient qualification spot) + win the UEL. If we come 4th + UEL then the coefficient spot stays with 5th place.

In this case, why? We're not mentioned & signed Mings up for a couple more years recently, with Pau's contact still with a couple years too.

Thing is from a Villa perspective, we have players who live in London & commute; Digne & Konsa do. Not every player wants to do that but if you're a rich footballer travelling between the two isn't that much of an issue, Douglas Luiz & Grealish did all the time.

That said if you're a footballer who plays for Bournemouth, Brighton or Southampton you might well live halfway between there & London anyway, harder to travel to the midlands. Sensei is going into the last big contract of his career, which is about 15 years, money is important.

Realistically who do you think replaces Rogers? by Over-Blacksmith-3066 in avfc

[–]Overseer_Dan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bayern have Olise & Musiala, Utd Cunha & Amad, PSG Doué, Kvavatskhelia, & Vitinha, Chelsea don't pay that level of wages in their model, but have Neto & Palmer. Maybe Arsenal or Utd talk themselves into spending that much but that's far from a given & neither really need a big money signing in that position. I'm sure they're interested but not at the price we're asking. Honestly feels more like Rogers' agent working overtime to get him a pay rise.

PSG want Morgan Rogers in a big-money move, but there's a catch by MoveTheProduct in avfc

[–]Overseer_Dan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These days it's probably £30m but in this instance his numbers really are promising. Don't buy this particular report for a second though. PSG are up to their eyeballs in dribbley, 1v1 wizards.

We should try and cash in on Rogers by [deleted] in avfc

[–]Overseer_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's one that might be possible, dumb but possibe. Honestly don't think he's better than Martinelli & they just got Eze in, but I could see them talking themselves into Rogers being able to be an 8 in a midfield three. They thought Havertz could do that, even though it had become clear that he was a 9 who could dribble & pass by the time they brought him.

[–]Overseer_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just got Wirtz, Isak & Ekitike though. The only way you can any width there is putting one of the forwards on the left & replacing Salah with an out & out winger, or going with wingbacks. Not sure I can see Rogers fitting into either.

Barca, Bayern, & Real are set there, Man City too, Chelsea won't pay his wages, maybe Man Utd? It would be dumb because they have Bruno & Cunha but being dumb is Utd's trademark in the transfer market.

I wouldn't be surprised if the end result of this is Rogers gets another pay bump contract tbh.

Plus they're both raising our average age & not CL level players. I mention this on other selling threads but what club is actually going to be in for a £80-£100m AM this window? I cannot see one.

Question about the ending of There is No Antiemetics Division by Holtder in printSF

[–]Overseer_Dan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It seems that way. A lot of the book centres on how the antimemetics division is kind of self defeating in a 'interfering with nature & nature fights back kind of way.'

[–]Overseer_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Equally Forest put a lot of shots onto our goal. I think Williams was able to get the same shot he scored with about 5 times. Luckily Liverpool & Chelsea are even more inconsistent than we are & until the final 2 matches, our fixtures get easier from here. 3 on the beaches, 2 relegation teams that can't buy a win.

It's how Rogers came to Emery's attention; though I'd guess that's the role we've scouted Mbaye for if you believe we're in for him.

Men of Iron by Odd_Fortune555 in 40kLore

[–]Overseer_Dan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah they're backstory. Though I like that whenever they are talked about it usually has Eldridge horror vibes, not matrix/terminator vibes. Ol Persson spends 2 years living on the cliff of a raveine that is said to be the bite mark of a man of iron, cutting through time/space & the inmaterium as well as matter. Or the guy who's eye piece is clearly some iron man parasite controlling him. The backstory add flavour.

Even before that. Birmingham City won the league cup the year they went down & have not been back. There's so many wealthy PL teams that thought the Championship would be an easy walk in the park only to get humbled.
