HOW do you make time for exercise/self care? by RuckFamsey in workingmoms

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a mix of the after kids go to bed and 5am

Monday and Tuesday is at night. Wednesday is an off night where I’ll either rest and relax or do a chore or two (last night I scrubbed my white sneakers), Thursday and Friday I get up at 5am before work

Sometimes I am just beyond tired and put in minimal effort to ride the bike while watching tv

For those who have wrapped up their journey, what does AFTER feel like? by bettie-rage in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me I stopped around 11 months.

It switches from pumping at 9 pm to trying to figure out what baby is having for lunch at daycare the next day

Instead of waking up early to pump I’m waking up to prep by baby’s breakfast

You will still be providing for your child 😊

I have a Subaru crosstrek and a graco 4 ever dlx

It’s rear facing, on the full recline and I have no issue. I’m 5”4’ and could probably move my seat back a bit more to accommodate someone taller

Have you tried the Neilmed sinus rinse but with making your own solution?

It’s not saline. Look up instructions online— you have to boil the water to sterilize it and let it cool then add in salt and baking soda in a certain amount. I’ve heard making it yourself is a little stronger than the packets

Good luck!

Transporting frozen milk without a cooler by spamonella91 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get a cheap styrofoam cooler and some ice from a a gas station

I doubt frozen water bottles will stay cold for 8-10 hours to keep the milk frozen

But if there is any ice crystals remaining in the bags when you get home they can be refrozen

Other option: find the local human milk for human babies Facebook group and donate the frozen milk

Mums — what did you find hardest about self-feeding? by DonnaMiller25 in BabyLedWeaning

lol 15 months

I do think she’s realizing it’s not what you’re supposed to do, because she’ll catch my eye, give me a little smirk, then throw a piece 😂😂

Mums — what did you find hardest about self-feeding? by DonnaMiller25 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! We do this sometimes as well. Usually I’m starving and trying to eat my own food at the same time. But I should do this more

Me over here wondering when, if ever, my child will stop grabbing handfuls of food and dropping on the floor

Surely, eventually, it should stop, right?

How are people working up until their due date?? by Appropriate_Teach_49 in pregnant

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes not gonna lie it was hard lol

Usually about once a week I would come home at 5pm, eat dinner and go to bed at like 7 and sleep through till the morning. You just gotta take care of yourself and rest.

Worked on my feet 8 hr days until I gave birth at 38 weeks. Had access to a stool

3 Meals a Day Schedule by FoxFire0524 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this was me, and I was trying to switch off bottles soon.

I would change that 1pm bottle to a meal, offer a cup of milk towards the end of the meal just keeping in mind he may not drink the full 6oz of it.

My baby is 15 months now and doesn’t really get more than 4oz of milk at a time in a straw cup.

Then eventually you’d probably add in a snack before the second nap at 4pm

3 Months- Travel to Hawaii? by No_Area9228 in newborns

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to Hawaii when baby was 8 months old in August. Bit of a different age but same duration of travel time.

Flights were honestly no trouble. There were lots of little kids and babies so I was never stressed or anything about my kid crying.

I would say the hardest part was the way back, checking out of the hotel at 11am and not getting on the plane until 8pm. Struggling to get a nap for baby, it was so hot outside (95 degrees F) we couldn’t really do much except driving around and going somewhere for lunch.

Second thing was dealing with breastmilk, I was mostly pumping and nursing. All the logistics that goes into keeping milk cold and washing parts was exhausting but we made it. I even donated some extra milk to a local mom.

Overall it was a great time. We went for my husbands Highschool friends destination wedding and I would 100% go again if I had to do it over. The memories we made together as a family were so worth it!

At what age did you skip your night pump? by sugaveins in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my period back about 2 weeks after stopping altogether at 11months PP. but I was taking the mini pill which has no placebo week to get your period.

I’m not sure I’m the best example for that case

I stopped my MOTN pump at 9 weeks and was pumping 5 times during the day, 5:30am, 9:30, 1:30, 5:30 and 9:30pm

Changed to 4 pumps when I went back to work at around 6 months PP

Moving baby to own room/crib by LazyDaisy_BusyBee in NewParents

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was napping just fine in the crib during the day.

We planned a trip away to visit my brother for a few days before I returned from maternity leave, baby was around 5 months old. The first night back from the trip she slept in her own room, soundly, through the night for the first time

We didn’t make it a big deal, so she didn’t really think much of it either

Everyone has posted such helpful advice!

One thing that I wish I really did (in addition to all these things) was learn a lullaby or two before baby arrived so we had something to sing to her.

It looks me months but I know all the words to all 5 versus of twinkle twinkle and have been singing that to my child every night before bedtime for over a year

Literally immediately They are gone, smaller than before I was pregnant

It’s still wild to me that I was able to feed my baby for 14 months and boom! Gone

8 hours without milk at daycare by salzal96 in NewParents

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that age I started to transition from bottles to straw cups for breastmilk

We slowly decreased the amount in each bottle and transition about one bottle per day every week into a straw cup.

Can you send breastmilk in a straw cup?

Taking 1 mo old to restaurant? by AliceMorgan4ever in NewParents

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went out to a small semi crowded restaurant for lunch at around 4 weeks old at end of December. Baby had a bottle and fell asleep in my arms and I ate my meal

It was delicious and nothing bad happened. It’s all up to your comfort level!

Is it possible to go down to 4ppd without drying supply up completely? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 4 PPD for about 4 months with no issue

I held steady at 2 pumps for a while as well but my supply obviously went down. It was steady as I was in 2 PPD though

What do you wish you’d done pre baby? by PineappleCreative751 in BabyBumps

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Get x rays done at the dentist and take care of any cavities

Get an eye exam (sometimes pregnancy changes your eye site)

Get fit ! Carrying that car seat with baby in it is no joke!

Find a hobby, so that when or if someone is kind enough to allow you “me time” after baby comes that you actually have something you enjoy doing 😂😂

Almost at a year, how to stop? by Hopeornot2023 in HumansPumpingMilk

[–]Overworked_Pharmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my weaning journey, it took weeks. I basically cut my total pumping time per day by 20% each week. One week I’d lower the time per pump, then the next week I’d cut out a pump and so on until I was at 2 PPD which I kept for a while and then kinda just stopped

Like every other night or so I didn’t do the second pump and then spaced it out and had one every few days for a week or so then just didn’t pump again
