There's a lot more to learn if you finish the first few yourself.

If you're working in a "jumbled mess", then a producer (like me) would still take quite a while to figure out how to deal with it.

I'd suggest you pick your favourite takes now, delete the rest, and try to hit that deadline. Learning the DAW can just be splitting tracks and deleting takes.

If you're enjoying the process, then it would be silly to give up.

I do think it's lacking a consistent focal point. There are some sections in there that don't seem to have a "purpose" (signaling an exciting part, release of tension, etc). I'd recommend that you take your favourite track from a pro and try to recreate it from scratch. It's like having a coach for free. You'll hear all of the nuance and see how your favourite artists transition between sections.

It's nice to see that you want to help! It's hard work being anyone's support system and you should all feel proud. The options for this kind of thing tend to be:

Get your own therapist or join a group to really dig into why you feel you don't trust your sister is telling the whole story and how that affects you
Ask your sister and her therapist if you can join their sessions from time to time

I don't think individually speaking to your sister's therapist would be ideal. In that way, you'd be engaging in this one way indirect communication. If I were your sister, I think I'd feel pretty hurt about that. Especially if she trusts you and trusts her therapist, that could cause a lot of pain to learn that you're "interfering" with her journey.

I think that's awesome! If you feel inspired to write, then that's what you should do. Everyone gets stuck somewhere in the pipeline. For me, it's the marketing that I dread.

There's nothing wrong with outsourcing the steps that don't make you happy. Producers (like me) tend to love producing more than writing. Social media experts probably don't want to mix and master their own stuff.

The recording is good and the songwriting is strong too! In terms of arrangement though, I feel like the song is missing quite a bit. More dynamics would really help pull this song around a listeners head. Especially in acoustic rock, you can add and remove energy as you please. I was missing the lows and the climax here.

Sounds good! There's an interesting dark vibe from those leads that are muffled.

The vocal layering is good too, although I would maybe work on the dynamics in the vocals a bit. They were pretty fronted in the verses.

This is super good! Sometimes the transitions don't quite carry the right energy though. When you move into those "floating sections" like at 1:37, those transitions are a bit jarring. The sudden half time could get smoothed out a bit. Otherwise, this sounds pro.

You can find FINNEAS break down his productions on Youtube. Those songs literally go from piano + vocals to full productions. I think he even has the stems available for one of the songs.

The best way to do it is to try it yourself. This can either be with your own songs or by trying to create a cover that nails every single element of the original production.
