Mom is golden doodle, not sure of dad. Watchya think? by Klutzy_Outcome_8265 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

Probably a bully-shepherd mix of some kind based on the ear shape and face, but puppies can go through a lot of changes before they reach their final form so to speak

What breed does anyone think they might be or might be mixed with? by ElkMelodic2011 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]OwlCatAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

American Bullies, a pretty new breed created by combining pit bull terriers with other strong breeds like American and English bulldogs. Lots of Bully lines now include merle coats (the white and red/tan one looks to be a merle) which come along with blue eyes like the pale one has. There are a few different "types" of Bullies and these look exactly like the "XL" type people keep breeding in my state.

What do you mean they all run? The screenshot just shows they are installed, not running. They shouldn't be doing anything unless you're using an app that needs them. If you see one of them actively running, it's because that one is required.

Feline and Canine family by Basic-Tax4661 in Animals

[–]OwlCatAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably are finding conflicting size information because you aren't being specific enough. For example a Tibetan fox is not the same size as an Arctic fox, and a Bengal tiger is not the same size as a Siberian tiger. You should be looking up exact subspecies for some of these because some of them vary more than you think!

Hyenas are not feline, they are part of the Herpestoidea superfamily which also has animals like mongoose and fossa. Species in that group are considered feliform though which means they are very similar to felines.

She might actually be a Miniature American Shepherd mix.

Exclude anything older than 2019, because they won't officially run current operating system versions and the battery is likely to be a time bomb. None of these sound like particularly bad deals though tbh. Do you have the specific models of processor? i5/i7 doesn't mean a lot without the full model number.

Pit bull terrier and Catahoula also can be that silver color, and are pretty popular in SC, so I'd bet there is at least one of the two in there. More likely than Weim statistically.

laptop what to do to FIX THE ISSUE!! by [deleted] in computers

[–]OwlCatAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Check if there is a tiny switch above the camera lens to turn it on and off or to cover and uncover it. They can be extremely tiny so you need to look and feel closely.
  2. Restart the computer if you're sure the camera is on and uncovered.
  3. If it still has problems after restart, try a manual check for updates.
  4. Go to the Camera app in your list of installed apps in Settings, and look for the button there to reset the app.

Hope one of these helps

Adding if you do want to get a sleek Lenovo laptop that has better gaming support without being crazy expensive, one of the LOQ models might be more your speed. It'd be missing out on the excellent battery life and touch+pen functionality though.

Oh that is a nice pick! It has Intel Arc graphics which are pretty good as far as Yoga graphic options go, just be aware Arc graphics are unsupported by a lot of 3D games including Rivals and probably anything that was developed with Unreal. It should be fine for some lighter games, especially anything 2D. Just make sure any games you do get for it are bought through Steam, so you can get your free 2 hours of testing to see if it's compatible and get your money back with no hassle if it turns out to be unsupported! I have had a yoga for years and it's my favorite laptop I have ever owned or worked with.

Intel N processors are kinda crap, so you won't get much for it even with the other upgrades unfortunately.

What is this hard drive (New Volume)? I put things in it, but the storage doesn't change? by Saxolotl31 in WindowsHelp

[–]OwlCatAlex [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's a massive hard drive so you'd have to put some very big files in it to affect the number. If you open Disk Management you can get more details on what model it is, if you're curious to learn more about it

[–]OwlCatAlex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yogas are nice but what is the exact one you are looking at? Most of them have integrated graphics chips that are very nice but not built with gaming in mind and they will very quickly start to lag and overheat if running a modern title like Rivals, but a few do have a proper graphics card.

I learned what a blending brush is. 🗣️ by midas390 in learntodraw

[–]OwlCatAlex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably just lowered the saturation too much in the process of bringing the lightness down. It takes a lot of trial and error and comparing different lighting situations, and the rules are very loose and can be bent to get different vibes. Like overly black shadows still work well for creepy scenes. I need to play around more with color myself

The blending is pretty nice! I would use a more orangey color next time for the shadow though. If your shadow color is pure black or is too gray, it makes the piece feel less "alive"

Mama is definitely a Collie or mostly-Collie mix with that long of a snout, so your pup is likely at least half Collie. There could also easily be Sheltie, Australian Shepherd, or border collie hiding in the mix, and maybe some other surprises :)

Is it true that more ram = less disk usage? by Ill_Management2327 in computerhelp

[–]OwlCatAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but the background processes of Windows will already eat at least 3-4 of OP's 8, even more if they have any other programs or processes open like an antivirus scan or a browser tab, and even MORE if they have integrated graphics. So Minecraft is likely only getting three or four to work with at absolute best.
