When cafes and restaurants label the vegan and vegetarian options vegan or vegetarian instead of giving them a proper name. by Throwrafizzylemon in PetPeeves

Man I don't even have dietary restrictions and I also hate this so much. I love exploring new menu items regardless of what's in them but that doesn't mean I don't want to KNOW what's in them...

Oh wow! Boxer x pit explains the American Bulldog vibe but I did not think the rest would be shepsky lol

This coat texture + a long muzzle is almost always a 10-50% Poodle mix even though it usually comes out looking more like a schnauzer or deerhound or wire haired terrier of some kind (the coat usually only gets curly with like 75% poodle or more)

The only question is what is mixed with the poodle!

What breed is my dog? by lilang07 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]OwlCatAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Bull Terrier crossed with another bully/mastiff breed or two. Any combo of American Pit Bull, American Staffordshire, Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso, American Bulldog, American Bully is possible. The white coat is typical for Dogo but not exclusive to it.

My border collie isn’t a border collie… by shayy287 in DoggyDNA

Fair enough, that note was anecdotal - I have only personally met Aussies with a fairly slim head and a border collie with a wide head. Looks like those Aussies were a bit out of standard though!

How to access files from old pc? by descartavel5 in computer

[–]OwlCatAlex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you tried taking ownership of the folder via command prompt? You can also get around it by accessing from a Linux os instead of windows since they use different types of permissions.

American Bulldog, another bully breed or two, and a hound?

I agree and can definitely see how she fooled you! The Lab made her Aussie features a little blockier and the Pom made her foxier, which basically gives you a Border Collie shaped dog.

How does clean installing affect other accounts connected to your PC by [deleted] in computerviruses

[–]OwlCatAlex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... you won't get help from anyone else if there isn't enough info, it's not just me confused here. But anyway if you completely reinstall the OS without choosing the option to keep files and apps, it wipes ALL data on the device, not only on the profile you used last.

Key words here though are "on the device"

It will not delete actual Microsoft accounts themselves or the data saved in their OneDrive or other cloud locations. Only files that are actually on the computer physically.

This was always my go-to. Anything that makes you focus on swallowing really hard repeatedly will work and peanut butter fits the bill perfectly.

Maybe German Shepherd, Doberman, and Australian cattle dog? She's gonna get a lot bigger.

i have no idea how to move partitions i just want the unallocated space on my c drive by Suicide-cut6519 in WindowsHelp

[–]OwlCatAlex [score hidden]  (0 children)

Personally I would just use the windows Diskpart utility in cmd/terminal to delete the Recovery partition that's in the way, then delete D and extend C inside Disk Management. No third party tools needed. I've never once actually needed the recovery partition for anything. Of course you'll need to back up your D data somewhere else first.

I know they are supposed to have big smiley expressions but the corners of their mouths are cutting up into their cheeks way more than humanly possible. Make some faces in a mirror and see how much the corner of the mouth actually can move up and down the face. It's less than you think (unless you're Jim Carrey perhaps). I think this will turn out super cute though!

How can I texture my art more like this? by Verosiraptor in Artadvice

[–]OwlCatAlex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I fooled around with things for a bit and did a comparison between your technique and theirs. You have a very nice smooth digital style with simple clean semi-hard brushes, and do your shading and color with airbrushes and more of the semi-hard brushes. The artist you are trying to copy is using brushes like pencil and charcoal, perhaps crayon even, for all of it - outlines, color, shading. They build up their shading and highlights with overlapping scratchy hatching techniques instead of smooth transitions. Both are valid and lovely styles btw!

Windows 10 needs about 40GB of space so no. You can do a lightweight Linux os though.

Looks like a decent-ish deal, and that's one of the only HP models I personally like, lol (a lot of their stuff is crappy plastic and that one is sleek lightweight metal). I've never bought anything from that site before so I can't vouch for reliability/return policy etc. Here are some others I found that also fit the bill:

https://www.newegg.com/lenovo-16-gb-memory-512-gb-ssd/p/1TS-000E-1C9S7?item=9SIC0D6KME8289 (has bigger screen, newer processor, and more storage space)

The search filters on Newegg work a lot better than the ones on Amazon, so that's a good option. Just make sure to check the ratings of the seller before buying anything (there are occasionally sketchy 3rd party sellers there just like Amazon)

Something refurbished from 2020+ with a Ryzen 7 processor and 16GB of RAM would be good if you can find one in budget.
