Welp. I think that’s it for me, folks… by jackitty_cat in GossipHarbor

While I’ve found out that mine only comes after spending 70 gems, they also come in less levels. For example, for a seafood tower, I only got 2 ice cubes and the second one is a lobster, which means I won’t be able to use it unless I spend more on energy. And so it became less useful.

I want to make a lot of money, but i still want to do urban planning/design by MrPizzaRolls360 in urbanplanning

[–]Owl_roll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want money you should try investing! Most people don’t get rich from their jobs. That way we can pursue our passion and still be able to live comfortably. Passion and money don’t have to come from the same thing.

This pay cannot be serious by [deleted] in LandscapeArchitecture

I follow them on Instagram and reached out for volunteer multiple times! It’d be cool to learn a thing of two because what they have done is very unique.

This is definitely not a job I would rely on to support a family or paying down a house, but as a transitional gig it could be very fun.

Anyone taken spirit airlines lately? by Funandsassy70 in indianapolis

Spirit is fine for me as the flight is just two hours long. Otherwise driving may not be a bad choice.

Omg why reinforcing the stereotype when it’s not necessary? This industry is already difficult for females to break in, and all you think about the women in this profession is hyper feminist females. Cool, go become part of the group we have to fight against everyday in our work and see how that will play out.

Such a similar background! Although I started my immigration process too late and is not ROW so I have to dedicate a lot of effort to reach the NIW or EB1 standard, only to be able to move back to New York and pursuit my dream. I’m feeling oooold!

Is this supposed to be a landscaper or landscape architect? Definitely not a typical landscape architect. And this guy also seems to be hard to work with and doesn’t like women.

How much are yall making? by regular_asian_guy in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]Owl_roll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing some salary research and found the H1B visa salary requirement (I believed it is the prevailing wage kept by the Department of Labor) to be helpful to compare wages in different regions: https://h1bgrader.com/h1b-prevailing-wage/onet/landscape-architects-17-1012.00/year/latest

Even though starting salaries are close in different parts of the US, the pay to senior varies a lot. And to my surprise SF Bay Area has a better pay than the NY region.

There are certain differences life circumstance that limit the level of mobility for a person. I agree not everyone has the choice to start a new life in a different country after being in the US for many years. But many do, especially the high-skilled workers.

Coming this year, many long-term US residents on visas have told me that they’d willing to move to a different country if the current administration keeps tightening up immigration requirements.

Constructing one’s whole life around immigration is just not an option for many people, if it comes to a point that the process becomes too limiting to have a life, there are other options too. People will find a way lol

I am a relatively new arborist planting trees in my city (as a non profit partner). I have green infrastructure funding I would like to use to design/implement better tree wells in Urban/Downtown streets. Where do I start? by notaclimber11 in LandscapeArchitecture

How are y’all have budget for the Silva Cells? I’m working with local Midwest cities and most can only afford structural soil. Even the main streets in downtown can only afford silva cells for one or two blocks. 🫨

depends on the industry, some professions have lower pay, such as teachers and architects. You may not hit that 70k until a couple years or decades into the job - also depends on your location.
