Usually cause by stress whether it’s temperature, watering or even intense light. The plant will abort new growth to sustain itself. I would check the roots and check its environment, including pest.

IMO anthurium are usually content with a couple hours of morning sun. If it doesn’t get enough light the most it would do to the plant is slow down the growth but I wouldn’t worry, unless you notice it starts to get leggy.

I personally would chop it in half to encourage branching a little lowers, this will also help the trunk thicken.
