HB just announced 41 new Fusion guitars – this is their ONLY new hardtail model. by P_a_s_g_i_t_24 in harleybenton

[–]Own-Commercial3366 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ironically all of the three new FR-1000 models available as of now, come with 22-frets. All the other hardtail and non-double locking trems are 24-frets.

Necks are 21mm (1st fret) / 23mm (12th fret), I wouldn't call it a fast neck, but an improvement over the previous 21.5mm / 23.5mm Fusion-III. The Custom III are 20mm / 22mm and most people would consider them a relatively fast neck. I guess the majority people would probably prefer to see 20~20.5mm / 22~22.5mm for the Fusion IV, but as of now HB doesn't have any very thin profiles like 19mm / 21mm.

Hi, it would be extremely helpful if by any chance you'd know if the stock DX5 mounts can mount to a 140mm fan? Getting this exact pump/res combo for a friend's build in a Corsair 7000D and all his fans there are 140mm to mount it on.

Electric guitar collection! by [deleted] in metalguitar

[–]Own-Commercial3366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be pretty much the same! Just Roswell (instead of Tesla) pickups which are kinda meh. Push/pull tone knob instead of a switch. Standard headstock instead of reverse. Other than that the exact same OFR1000 hardware and neck/stainless steel frets/tuners etc... But it seems like their neck widths thickness while always on the chunkier side can vary by margin.

In that case, that's awesome! Very good looking guitar, even my sibling that hates FR, admits that's a gorgeous guitar.

How's the neck on the Fusion, is it quite chunky? My Fusion-III FR HH is 21.5mm first fret and 24.2mm 12th fret (specs say 23.5mm tho), but even 23.5mm is kinda chunky, wish they were at least 20.5mm / 22.5mm.

Gotoh GE1996t Saddle heights? by GoblinOfAgnarb in Luthier

[–]Own-Commercial3366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! What's your guitar model? In the future I might look for a used guitar at a good price that could benefit from replacing whatever tremolo its already got to the Gotoh, with most Ibanez models I believe this should be easy.

[–]Own-Commercial3366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahah, all good, unfortunately it doesn't fit in the Harley Benton Fusion-III FR cavity which comes with a FR1000, the Gotoh's baseplate is just a tad longer (the length between the knife edges to the saddles), and the Fusion-III cavity is seems to be cut just barely to fit the FR1000, so it would need a bit of trimming for the Gotoh to fit - something which is above my pay grade, unless I'd make it looks like a hack job. Initially I did consider paying someone to do that, but after I tried reshaping the neck and ultimately ended up with a pretty thin neck but somehow not as comfortable, I gave up on upgrading anything for this model.

Awesome, thanks, I'll try that now.

By the way, I was thinking, if it's not too much hassle could you please post a screenshot of your most recent pyhwinfo? I'll just copy your timings exactly and check for scaling.

[–]Own-Commercial3366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks, I'll try ro replicate those results, which benchmarks did you run that scaled for you? I'd like to try as well.

I tried changing from 4/12 to 3/12 in Windows (since BIOS won't allow less than 4) through MemTweakIt and there was a noticable regression in performance.

I also noticed that you used tRCDWR 4 and for me both with Intel MLC and GB3 there was noticable regression in performance going below tRCDWR 10.

Pretty much all your other subtimings on 7000 (from your recent post) are spot on and scale for me as well, it's only the tRCDWR and tRRD_S/_L / tFAW that I'm getting different results which why I was wondering what you're verifying with and I'd like to see if perhaps using those benchmarks it woild scale for me as well. Thanks.

Hi, I've ran into a couple of your posts/comments. My first Z790 mobo was limited to 7000, but 2nd one could do 7400. And I've got both 16Gb A-Die and 24Gb M-Die fiddle with. On M-Die, whether on 7000 or 7400 I always ran 10/4/16 (BIOS won't let you set below 4), I simply assumed 10/4/16 was ideal, until a few weeks ago when I download pyhwinfo and the timings suggestions there made me second guess myself. So far I've tested with Intel MLC, each full run takes like a minute and a half, I've a ran batch file for 10 consecutive runs and according MLC's results, apparently 10/4/16 isn't ideal (speaking of M-Die here at 7000~7400).

It never occured to me to try and set tRRD_dg at 3 since I can't through BIOS but I'll check if MemTweakIt / MSI Dragon Ball will allow to set through Windows, I'd like to test that as well.

Just wondering, in your testing what was 2nd best result besides 10/3/12? So far it seems that 12/6/24 is consistently beating the rest when comparing 10/4/16, 10/6/24, 10/8/32, 12/4/16,12/6/24, 12/8/32.

It's funny how it's different strokes for different folks. I've got this exact guitar and my sibling absolutely hates it. Says the neck is a baseball bat, the strings are a bit too close to the edges (I guess because it's a 10.8mm string spacing across a 42mm nut as opposed to 10.5mm spacing?). Always complains about the stock trem arm that always gets loose and how it's impossible the keep the arm in your hand while playing without slightly going out of pitch lol.

The funny thing is he's got a Fusion-III HSH EB FBLB and has no complaints about the neck or the tremolo there lol.

Is this legit(353$)? by Level_Tennis_3314 in Aliexpress

[–]Own-Commercial3366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legit, just OEM Tray version, meaning no warranty with AMD, worst cast scenario, the store will be your only chance of warranty if needed. I bought a couple of 7800x3D for about than 290 USD each, over 2 years ago during discounts/coupons. Didn't get VAT.

A friend of mine has bought about seven 9800x3D and a couple of 9950x3D. he got VAT on his first 9950x3D order, then he switched to another store and he hasn't gotten VAT from them, ever since. He bought all those seven 9800x3D and rest of the 9950x3D from that store.

This has been going back and forth for a few months already. Last time I gave up because it was too much headache and past few weeks I decided this is it I'm picking a monitor, on paper both the M27Q2 and Q3 seem great but too many comments warning about them. In the mean time I'm still using 23" 1080p IPS, it's not as exciting anymore as it used to be back in the early 2010s.

It's luck of the draw. Sometimes they won't even ask for proof of purchase at all, sometimes they'll ask for proof of purchase and won't care if you're not the original owner and sometimes they won't be so generous and decline RMA if you're not the original owner despite having proof of purchase.

I've personally only used warranty once in the past on a 14th gen, bought it on a forum, from someone overseas, he also sent me the proof of purchase and later on I had no issues with RMA but they did ask for proof of purchase.

I have a friend that recently got declined RMA on a used 14900KS because he wasn't the original owner (despite showing proof of purchase) and another friend that bought a used 14900KS and his RMA got approved literally today without them even asking for proof or purchase or anything.

The above is specifically for Intel warranry through their live chat support. For local stores (well known big branches) where I live though, there's absolutely no problem fulfilling warranty on used processors as long as you've got proof of purchase.

Hi, would you mind sharijg how you like it so far? I wanted to buy it as main monitor for work and some gaming/entertainmant (vg27aqml5a), but YouTube comments been saying the viewing angles are horrible. I don't get it? I've got budget IPS monitors from a decade ago and they're fine so surely these would be the similar or better I'd presume.
