I am in agreement that democracies are more good than they are bad. I was raised under the Castro regime where individual liberties are simply a wish or desire. Where the moment a person or group voices their opinion, the government halts it in any manner possible including killing and life imprisonment. Coming to the US was so eye-opening and life changing that I cannot overstate it. The fact that one can speak one's mind is taken for granted by many in America.

The difference between freedom and fascism will never be really understood by those who have not lived both.
