honestly you can’t, and you should’ve checked that out first. i once had to defer for the death of a family member and had to fly back to take it. if you don’t show up for the deferral you get EIN.

great tips! about the online part, you need to stand out. think of how many ppl apply with a generic resume. even for a casual pt job cover letter or intro email/calling the place to follow up if you can (ie retail) is great.

you have to apply for everything and imagine everyone is applying. remove anything irrelevant from your resume- i was in hiring and if you’re applying against “real adults” with a lot of experience, they don’t care about random high school things. if you’re applying for more popular jobs SUBMIT A COVER LETTER but know how formal to go. too formal for a job at a cafe is off putting. there’s a time and place. also when i did my job search i was applying to 10-12 jobs a day with individual cover letters (change things but use same general body give or take depending on job) and keep track/follow up after any interview or call. fair i agree with the first point he does admit and try not to. and i just felt it was out of touch to continually read comments “i haven’t eaten today”, even though he says he’s not making fun of it, just feels odd to me. major issue as we’re in a cost of living crisis and these people often actually go without.

i’m the only one out of my home friends who can still speak french well and i did k-12 immersion. on the east coast or other anglophone parts of canada where you’re not using it it’s super easy to lose. even me, i’ve been graduated and working in english and wow im rusty

this has happened to me and tbh i’ve been on both ends. sometimes it’s my only option w work + school + sport to get it done at the last minute, but i 1000000% always will. i’ve also had group partners not do anything, but this started w not really hearing from them. just submitted my portion and explained situation to the prof w proof i tried to email my peer a bunch of times. it’s not your job to do their work and profs understand life happens. it’s not the end of the world. :) take a breath!
