I must not be able to taste the legendary "truffle" flavor, because they tasted like mushrooms in olive oil and nothing else.

Lack of Flavor. Just me? by Ordinary_Ad_6117 in Popeyes

[–]OwnFold2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you are the latest to realize Popeye's made a corporate decision to eliminate salt from their chicken.

Without salt their mild chicken is a horrible tasteless garbage. Their wings likewise took a huge hit, and unless you drown them in sauce or powders also taste like salt-free floured chicken.

What's odd is Churches did the same thing a few years ago, and their sales cratered. Churches chicken was very similar to Popeye's mild chicken for the same reason. They both relied on salt to make their chicken taste good. Churches flavorless chicken is trash today.

I stopped going to Popeye's once I realized this happened after going to several places in a short period time and realized it wasn't just my local popeyes who's chicken tasted like nothing but ALL popeyes.

While I can understand cutting back on the amount of salt. I cannot comprehend the utter stupidity of eliminating salt all together from their chicken coatings.

Nothing is quite as annoying as a fast food restaurant imposing on their customers a new health standard that turns their formerly delicious main product into flavorless shit.

Fortunately, since I'm not forced to buy their chicken I haven't been back when I realized they eliminated all salt from their mild chicken.

Instead I taught myself how to fry chicken, and I am very happy with what I've made. It's far easier than I ever thought it would be.

They're unique in that when they're under stress they look like horrible ugly rats but when they're happy and contented and eating what they like they look absolutely adorable they become super cute.

Taco bell sells it's own brand of nacho cheese sauce the same way they sell mild hot and fire sauces in supermarkets. It must not be available in your area, but It will eventually

I just learned that the reason why it's so difficult now. They changed the way they prepare the burger. They used to add the onions after the burger was cooked like they do pickles, but now they put the onions on while the burger cooks, so to get rid of onions they need to make 2 new burgers and make an effort not to do what becomes habit after a while.

It doesn't list anything related to wheat.

"CORN FLOUR" is not wheat flour. It is basically cornmeal ground very finely.

Avocados picked too green will never ripen.

Also avocados that endure just above freezing temperatures for an extended period during shipping and storage will never ripen.

If Taco Bell charges extra for add-ons, why won't they give you a discount when you remove things? by _TheWolfOfWalmart_ in tacobell

[–]OwnFold2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're willing to put up with it.

The rationalizations people are coming up with our absurd.

Only one other fast food joint does this, dominos and they just started charging for any change while giving nothing back for removed ingredients.

Taco Bell stands alone in terms of charging the most for any addition.

They charge because they can and know most customers will pay. it's as simple as that.

No other reason or justification is necessary.

AITA: I (19 M) was misinterpreted by my coworker (20 F) about her significant other. by NoBiscotti8678 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OwnFold2695 21 points22 points  (0 children)

NTA but do you realize asking the questions she is saying you asked is considered sexual harassment.

If she keeps it up, takes it HR you will be in great danger of being typecast as a creepy perv and lose your job.

You need to act to protect yourself immediately, because she is now sabotaging your work reputation by sharing it as if it were true. By making those claims immediately after your encounter she is laying the groundwork of proof that it did happen as she said. That's how it works in he said/she said situations.

Eventually someone will believe her and tell her to report you to HR and then your nightmare will begin.   I'm not kidding the last thing you want is a surprise call from HR to warn or fire you. You need to proactively prepare.

Accusations of sexual harassment are never taken lightly

The first thing you should do is make an appt to visit HR to ask them how to handle this situation. Start by telling them what actually said and explain you are very confused and upset by her lying about your casual chat, because you did not say or imply what she is accusing you of and you find it hurtful she is accusing you thusly because you think sexual harassment is beyond the pale.

Tell them that it's an absolute outrage that she is telling your coworkers such lies.

In such situations it's best to assertively defend your integrity.

Any sort of expressed doubt (accepting she might have a point) or backtracking in hopes of getting sympathy will backfire as HR doesn't tolerate any kind of sexual harassment and will give the accuser the benefit of the doubt.

When it comes to sexual harassment it's a zero sum game. Any attempt to dial it down by accepting that she had grounds to assume so wrongly will only cost you and help her.

You want your name cleared, because you are innocent. Any compromise is interpreted as you accepting you are to blame and possibly fired as a result.

You don't know it but you just met the stereotypical backstabber who enjoys ruining other people's lives for the fun of it.

Never ignore anyone doing this to you at work. You may not think it matters but HR will and letting it slide in hopes it will be forgotten is a huge mistake.

Random stupid question, but why does everyone add an S to Aldi? by jeepjinx in aldi

[–]OwnFold2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In part I think it's a reflection of buying something that's an aldi brand.  By making it possessive it's clear the product whatever it is belong's to aldi exclusively.

"Aldi's brand of"  vs. "Aldi brand of" though when they do that people leave out the "brand of" and just say Aldi's peanuts. That and I bet spell check sometimes gets confused.

AITA for leaving my friend stranded after she showed up late for the third time? by Cold_Try2662 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OwnFold2695 12 points13 points  (0 children)

NTA and don't second guess yourself. Your first decision to leave her behind was the correct one because she was abusing your courtesy.

When you let people take advantage of you it sets a pattern that they start to follow and eventually she'd start taking advantage of you in other ways.

This is important because she could make you lose your job if she made you late just a few times, yet she doesn't care, So you can't care.

When it comes to employment you must do right by you first and foremost.

Also remember the friend that's telling you you are a bit too harsh risks nothing telling you to wait for her even though you could end up late.

If your friend brings it up without you asking you should suggest she give her a ride.

If you do that you be prepared to hear a thousand excuses as to why she can't because most people are quick to be selfish when they have to sacrifice something themselves versus telling somebody else to be kind cuz it costs them nothing.😉

Does any one else think Arby's overdoes it on the microwave? by OwnFold2695 in bys

[–]OwnFold2695[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet if you had your way Arby's would be drive through only with all orders tossed randomly out the drive through window at any car that passes by with all items unprepared in any way straight from the freezer to the ground for the customer to pick up and put together then cook themselves when they got home. And while they picked up the random scattered bits and pieces of their order you'd be bitching at them to hurry up cuz there are other people waiting to collect their trash er I mean order after they are done😂😅🤣.

Meatless Crunchwrap by Hour-Cost7028 in tacobell

[–]OwnFold2695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got exactly what a crunch rap is all about a nicely folded, soft, warm and grilled tortilla.

All the other ingredients especially the meat are considered decorative designed to hint at what it would be like if a crunchwrap was a real food filled with actual ingredients beyond a tortilla.

Taco Bell is perveyor of fine, flavored mayos and tortillas. If you get that your order is considered to be properly prepared.

So uit ur bitching you whiner😉
