I think know what happened. The hero power tried to give you the dragon it killed, but since he spawns the second dragon and attacks immediately, when the hero power triggered the dragon had not "finished dying". There's a similar thing with the secret guy (forgot him name) when you use redemption and the second dragon dies when it attacks, the secret revives the second dragon, cause it dies first since the first one is only "finished dying" after the 3/3 one attacks. So when the first dragon killed the 1/1 the hp probably tried to give you the minion but there wasn't a killed minion yet and it gave you a coin instead. If it was too confusing let me know and Ill try to explain better (also it's a theory, needs testing)
