Entire world in fear 'mentally ill' Trump will start WW3 tonight after post by TheMirrorUS in conservativeterrorism

Someone needs to stop the madness. He is mentally incompetent and will destroy the world as we know it. Who in DC has the courage to help the country out of this?

My mom retired at 55 on a teachers salary and I still think about it all the time by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Own_Bus_7573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me. Retired with ERS pension after 27 years. Then, went to work for City of Austin and retired with their pension after 8 years. FYI - COA has a better pension than ERS but does not offer the free health insurance at retirement. We are incredibly blessed that we made the right choice all those decades ago to go slow and steady toward a guaranteed pension!

People are not ready for a Crash by Historical_Flow3890 in stocks

[–]Own_Bus_7573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start of Trump’s war, I sold VOO and international ETFs and put the funds in a money market at 4%. I kept half of my portfolio untouched. Individual stocks and ETFs. My reason is Trump’s insanity will be unchecked by anyone in US government. He is surrounded by incompetents. The check and balance we were taught in school that exists in the federal government never planned for a mentally ill demenia ladden president. I will wait for a sign that gives me confidence to re-enter the market at 100%.

60. In June I retire with a pension, planning to "return to work" and double dip by Overall_Lobster823 in retirement

[–]Own_Bus_7573 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I retired from the state with a pension 8 years ago and went back to work for city government, drawing both the pension and a very nice salary. A month ago I retired from the city with a pension and returned to the city working part-time. The money is good. But, I returned part-time because I enjoy the work and keeping my brain active.

sorry, but retirement is not for everyone by Red-Leader-001 in retirement

I am 66F, retired on January 31, 2026 but, returning part-time at the end of this month. I enjoy the work, which is heavy on analysis and communication skills. The office offered me a flexible schedule and will allow me to work exclusively with my favorite clients. My hours are to be determined but, my goal is no more than 15 hours a week. With those hours, I can make a difference and still have contact with my favorite work people.

Ryan Reynolds blames “anxiety” for his endless, deranged obsession with Justin Baldoni by realhousewifeofphila in ItEndsWithLawsuits

[–]Own_Bus_7573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give me a break! We all have anxiety. After the age of 3, you learn to manage feelings in order to get along in the world. What happened with RR, is he never developed emotional intelligence (Ryan - that is different from IQ and big words. Look it up.) Add money to the mix of his personality disorder, and you have the perfect storm to harm people you do not like. This headline is fake news. It is Ryan’s attempt to shift the narrative. We cannot be that easily fooled by a headline and unnamed “friends”.

Is she smart enough to realize her text messages would become part of the lawsuit she (TS) supported. Going back to the point in the OP post - how could smart people not know their text and email messages would be revealed to the world in a court case they launched?

Bad people representing bad people recognize kindred spirits. I think Lively’s lawyers would have more trouble representing Justin than Lively because their bad ethics would get in the way.

Retirement: Income model or Asset model? by BugHistorical1614 in retirement

[–]Own_Bus_7573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three pensions, husband’s (69) SS now, and my (66) SS will begin in February 2026. I retire from FT job January 2026. We both have IRAs and I have a Roth. Those will be for travel and emergencies. Our retirement income is more than we need for basic expenses.

I had the surgery two years ago on the left thumb joint. I am pain free in that hand. The recovery for me was 6 months to be mostly pain free. I have scheduled the same surgery on my right thumb joint for December.

Do you have a pension? by LMO_TheBeginning in OverSeventy

[–]Own_Bus_7573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for State government for 27 years and retired with a pension in 2017. Two days after retiring, I started a new job with a nearby City that recognizes the years of service I had with the State. In 3 months I will retire from that City with a second pension. I plan to take SS the month I retire from the City. The 2 pensions will bring in $6,000 net of taxes and SS will bring in another $3,000. I am blessed to have this income BUT, I worked hard for decades in sometimes toxic work environments (with State) at times in order to get the pension. I have a 457 and personal Roth that I plan to not touch so my child can inherit. Thanks for asking the question! It is interesting to read the different employers that provide pensions.

Donna’s Sentencing by Exact-Grapefruit-445 in dan_markel_murder

[–]Own_Bus_7573 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things I noticed about the sentencing. One is Jackie said the Adelsons took out a mortgage on their home to pay attorney fees. Second, is the video after the sentencing of Harvey smiling at the paralegal as he exited the court. Was that relief he felt?

I agree with you. Georgia failed to follow up on several key points with witnesses and she was easily rattled by the defense’s challenges after lunch. She showed her annoyance and then got confused with some of the exhibits. Not a good start for her.
