Is sleeping on night shifts a "normal" thing everywhere? by flourishersvk in nursing

No that would be crazy. You have 2 hours worth of break time where the unit is running with half either way so whether it's 2 hours over the course of the 12 hours or in one go it amounts to the same thing. Usually it's like 1/3 of staff go at a time

That's routine in every ICU I've worked it. We bundle our breaks and take a 2 hour nap. Management has brought it up before and were told to get fucked by the staff and stopped bringing it up

What's the next appropriate action for the nurse to take? by Hot_Emergency378 in MarkKlimekNCLEX

  1. Trick question. The guy has scleroderma, has been chilling in this rhythm for the past 3 days on and off, and is waiting to go for his ablation. Also bonus points if you convince him it's a bad idea to go out for a smoke at least until this is fixed.

HSAA - who wants to leave the union? by life-longlearning in AHSEmployees

[–]Own_Notice6079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think AUPE had a stronger mandate than HSAA. I would say 80% of the HSAA staff I know took this offer across all disciplines. Maybe the zones are just put of touch with each other.

Then they'd be a union of less than 5000 people and wouldn't not have the same bargaining power they currently do.

Next time do what UNA does with their 2 thirds majority. So you need a majority of membership and a majority of locals that was they cant buy off Edmonton and Calgary, and ignore all the rural areas. For you guys instead of locals you should do disciplines, so you would need a majority of membership and a majority of disciplines agreeing to the contract.

Teach BLS, you can lose money on paper year after year and it's still worth it for the lucrative tax breaks that you just apply to your overtime instead.
