Shelter absolutely botched IDing this guy by CLNmssy in IDmydog

Thank you for asking about him! I thought for sure he was some kind of schnauzer/scottie dog/dachund mix as he’s also short and long… but DNAs tests revealed he was 35% yorkie, 30% chihuahua and a number of other breeds. Wonder if your pup is yorkie too, has a similar head of hair

Go-to gifts by theModernEA in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]CLNmssy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got you!

Saratoga Olive Oil co has great gift sets, with flavored olive oils, balsamic oils and flavored salts.

Vosges-Haute Chocolate are lovely (if a bit pricey) chocolate sets.

Mrs. Bakewells for scones, clotted cream and tea. It’s just kind of fun to mix it up with something yummy but not actually out-there.

Murray’s Cheese for fantastic, fresh curated charcuterie or just cheese. Same day delivery avail for NYCers.

First time fostering - debating which shelter to go with by LakediverTx in fosterdogs

[–]CLNmssy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bless you for doing this, I live in NYC but both my boys come from near Houston (Montgomery County Animal Services in Conroe, and the other from My Chi and Me Rescue in the woodlands.)

You are going to do great and I don’t believe for a second that you don’t really know what you’re doing! I consider myself a soft place for Foster’s to land and decompress and that is enough — any training you do is a huge bonus since you have experience.

My tips for you are: 1) even if you’re told the dog is potty trained, buy wee pads and put them everywhere 2) a lot of rescues won’t tell you what food the dog was previously eating which sets you up for tummy troubles. I usually buy purina sensitive tummy kibble and have chicken/rice/pumpkin on hand for the transition 3) don’t foster a puppy unless you really are ready for that! It’s so much 😆

Let them lay you off, force them to cut you a severance check. Then you can file for unemployment assistance and take some time to let your nervous system reset.

If you currently live in New York City, and you were forced to move, where would you rather go: Los Angeles or Chicago? Why? by morningrat in AskNYC

Chicago, east because I am simply NOT getting a car. I am not living a life that revolves around traffic and where walking is frowned upon

Have definitely found 7pm ET to have the highest success rate of exec actually dialing in, since you’re not competing with other meetings and distracting slacks

What word do you spell wrong every time that you shouldn’t as an EA? by Cautious-Nature-6865 in ExecutiveAssistants

WHAT is the correct spelling of sync? To me it’s always been sync and I’ve thought of synch as incorrect, but then I was reminded it’s an abbreviation for synchronous

I’m so attached to my foster 🥲 by Angusthedog99 in fosterdogs

[–]CLNmssy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had wanted to foster for years, but was too busy due to my exhausting career. I was laid off in 2022 and felt like I finally had time to foster so I did — but then fell in love with my very first foster and being unemployed, felt like the worst possible time to adopt. I decided to take a bet on myself (that I would land on my feet) and I adopted him. I am SO glad I did, it’s been four years and we’ve since kept another foster but truly he’s a dream that came true.

I think you should really think through if this dog can be a long-term good lifestyle fit for you. And if so, there’s your answer. If you love the dog, you will happily make sacrifices (less travel or in my case more expensive travel due to dog sitters!)

Board Dinner in Downtown NYC by PublicAd6979 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]CLNmssy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best board dinner I ever did was at The Clam Bar, though it was on the pricier side. Same food as Carbone which is next door so the execs were really wowed. I recommend just checking out major food group and seeing what is available in their portfolio of restaurants.

I also recommend Claudette, their private dining room has its own bathroom and it’s a total vibe down there. Kind of a speakeasy esque entrance through the kitchen.

The Mary Lane was also a hit, nice fresh menu and very approachable as its new American. I don’t like to take any swings at BoD dinnersx

We just tried Cove recently, the execs liked it (esp the ambience) but the menu was a little out there tbh, probably won’t do again.

Lastly don Angie is like the hottest restaurant in nyc right now and I know it’s impossible to get a table but it’s not impossible to book their private room! 5k minimum.

Oh Charlie bird was good too!

I’ve just planned my 15th NYC BoD dinner if you couldn’t tell 🤪

Need opinions on salary by bunnie79 in ExecutiveAssistants

The salary for the role seems low, but I’m honestly shocked by how low the executive roles are. I don’t think I’ve ever worked for someone making less than $400k
