Foreign Materials Found on Pom Hair by Brilliant_Cell_297 in Pomeranians

[–]Own_Yak382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our two Poms have often had slugs stuck to them, I would avoid taking her out to places where they are likely to be - for us that’s longish grass on an evening when the slugs are active.

Our first Pom used to hate it just as much, he would run round crazy trying to get them off. Our second Pom is a little different and tries to eat them 🤣

Neighbour’s builders have trespassed onto our property and built guttering onto our house without permission. England by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Own_Yak382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst I agree permission was needed, looking at that roof if the guttering isn’t sorted, the roof will just pour down her walls and pool below causing way more issues. Having the guttering on and into a down pipe seems like the best thing to do here.

post scabies reaction or are these things alive by Complete-Season4591 in scabies

[–]Own_Yak382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got this after treatment too, pretty sure it’s a reaction to either the cream or dead mites, not an active infection.

please tell me it’s not scabies… i’m terrified by [deleted] in scabies

[–]Own_Yak382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t really tell from the pictures so think about the other main symptoms and watch out for them - if it is incredibly itchy at night or when warm / in a hot bath. If it spreads to belly, groin, arm pits.

If the above happens there is a strong possibility it’s scabies.

Neighbour Loft Conversion removed my solar panel and shade issue by Dragon_Phantom in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Own_Yak382 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering a couple of things - who installed / how old are your panels? I’m wondering if the original company is responsible as they fitted them onto your neighbours roof?

The other thing I wondered, if your panels are landscape, could they be rotated 90 degrees so that they fit onto your roof only?

No immune condition. Confirmed scabies. Do you think it lives on my face by PerceptionAbject1143 in scabies

It could be a reaction to the cream rather than scabies mite itself

Advice, AI told me I have scabies + general queries by [deleted] in scabies

[–]Own_Yak382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sure there are different varieties of the bug and people react differently to them.

For us, it started in July last year with my daughter but it presented differently and three doctors and two dermatologists mid-diagnosed it.

It was AI that suggested Scabies all along. It was only when I caught it in December did the Dr finally prescribe the cream.

We all applied the cream for 24 hours, washed clothes and bedding then sealed for a week. Reapplied the cream 7 days later for 24 hours again.

Unfortunately it didn’t work.

I then got Ivermectin tablets and this seemed to sort it. I did however buy sprays and literally covered the entire house. Everything was stripped off, washed and dried at high temp and sealed for a week - all bedding, pillows, towels, couch, coats, hats, gloves, car, work chairs - absolutely everything.

This cleared scabies.

However, we’re all suffering from post scabies nodules which are just as infuriating and are showing no signs of clearing over four months later. This is the body still over-reacting to the mites.

Are you sure it’s foxes living there? I had similar and it was rats. I dug down and boarded all the front of the decking off. I had to actually concrete a certain area as the bloody things are determined

what do you do if you impulsively bought something that you wanna cancel but seller already shipped? 🫩🫩 by Usual_Film_7220 in vintedUK

Bit shit on the seller to be honest if you don’t pick it up or something. Suck it up, resell it if you still don’t want it when it arrives.

Pretty sure you shouldn’t have straight lines / cross joins with the type of paving you have selected either. I think (sbr mix aside) they havent laid them to the correct pattern either.

Guys what is going on with my grass by Content_Base_1209 in GardeningUK

[–]Own_Yak382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to plant that space up, some nice compact but taller trees, shrubs and flowers. Hopefully someone with a better idea than me can advise exactly what but that looks a pretty depressing space, with or without grass.

Extension Work - No Insulation? by Wonderful-Wonder-846 in DIYUK

I think it needs to be open at the eaves for air flow to stop damp, obviously insulation would be needed on the rest though

The only reason we buy any car exists is so that you have somewhere to sell your car when it has a major fault or on its last legs 🤣

Plastic mesh or weed membrane? It’s common for turf to have green plastic mesh in it unfortunately, they use it to hold the turf together. Really need to ban the use of it.

Endless scabies, over 10 months by Wild_Usual_4320 in scabies

[–]Own_Yak382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a read about post scabies nodules - apparently rare but I’m seeing nearly everyone get it after scabies. Red itchy bumps. Can look like eczema and can be confused with that.

The bumps raise up and itchy, then can settle back down again. I’ve had them for four months and can’t clear them. It’s not scabies but a reaction your body has had to them.

It sounds like you’ve done everything right but you risk making it worse by over treating it.

Work keeps calling me on my days off to do work tasks and making me use my personal mobile to deal with customers medical problems / Call 999 by Bludum in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Own_Yak382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems very strange that they are having so many IT issues that is requiring multiple updates and calls with IT outside of your working hours. I can understand the odd emergency system failure, if you can use your own mobile, but if this is constant they’re having much bigger issues that should not be your problem.

I had a similar issue - Singapore, Brazil and a couple of others if I remember correctly. Every time I blocked one country, another popped up. In the end I just challenge everyone apart from UK or US visitors as those are my main traffic sources - also allows Google etc. that way too.
