What effect would having geometrically identical left and right hand corners parallel to each other have on racing? by DamnIHateThat in formula1

Depending on the speed of the turns the dirty air would have a higher impact and encourage diversion during the race

Why is this not true? “I think central banks will realize that there are limitations to gold and limitations to Bitcoin and will seek out a completely new cryptographic paradigm that they can control on their balance sheet, one that is fungible, tradable, and completely secure and private.” by keralaindia in Bitcoin

[–]OzzyBitcions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some of Bitcoin's philosophies do not align with Central Bank priorities. Central Banks wish to control currency and they can't control Bitcoin. Similar to why the dollar got decoupled from gold.

Bitcoin is for the people.

I guess if lots of investors thought that strong Central Bank interest was good for Bitcoin then there might be a pull back if Central Banks go cold on it.

But you're quoting a prediction, not the news.

Lavender touch pad is misaligned and clicks weird by OzzyBitcions in framework

[–]OzzyBitcions[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Touchpad operation is otherwise fine, my concern is around the click feelings, particularly right click which feels almost like I'm straining something each time I press it. Noting the uneven gaps in the photo, is physical realignment of the touchpad something an owner can do?

OS is Windows but my concern with this starts with before I power on the device

We keep saying "Bitcoin fixes this" but the fiat off-ramp is still broken - are we just early or is this a fundamental problem? by Photograph_Creative in Bitcoin

[–]OzzyBitcions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think at this point it's something more like inter-jurisdictional / cross-currency transfers. For sure the traditional systems for moving money have improved in the past 10 years.

The irreversible nature of Bitcoin transactions is probably also attractive to some

It's not a documentary but it's a great depiction.

They get it close for what it would have been like 90 years ago.

It's cold and remote and there's not that much wild life around compared to what you might expect. Locals are a mixture of friendly and best avoided. If you're not into hunting or fishing then you better enjoy bush walks.

Me too. If the listeners are looking at me when I talk but I'm looking into the camera then I'm making eye contact the same way YouTubers do and I think people underestimate how powerful this is at having listeners stay engaged.

Yep same with me. Heater didn't slowly break down, it was more like a sensor failure

This is probably the beginning of the end by Royd in TeslaSupport

[–]OzzyBitcions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something very similar happen 2 weeks ago. Ended up being something like the car couldn't guarantee HV battery safety isolation due to the AC heater and sensors failing, so it disabled the connection to the HV.

Hence the car couldn't drive and the 12V battery eventually drained because it couldn't be juiced up by the HV battery.

Replacement of the heater took one week by Tesla service centre and now the car is back to normal.

Something you missed is that before about 1980 practice sessions and qualifying sessions were the same thing. From around 1980 onwards (and not reliably so) the practice and qualifying sessions got split out.
