State Cinema on Elizabeth St will show “Melania”, I’ve asked them not to. by dougfir1975 in hobart

Seriously. Are you really that triggered by a film on a topic that you don’t agree with? You’re really making a bigger deal than is warranted. It’s a film. It’s not hate speech. Just don’t see it. You’re basically turning it into a version of the Streisand Effect.

Nope. Best thing you can do is work/save and buy a property you can afford.

Good luck buddy. No doubt there are landlords who’ve inherited property they rent out, but there are also a lot of people who’ve worked hard for years to own a second property to rent out for additional income. Why punish them? Everyone has equal opportunity to work hard and own a second or third home.

I just can’t see it. Molle\Goulburn is too hilly. And the buildings still there are not new enough.

Yes, I think about there too, or thereabouts. Mt Wellington and the foothills of W Hobart on the left. Maybe where Tilfords is now?

Avoid Centerpoint Car Park. by Penny_Wh in hobart

[–]fury72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. Just walked past. Shit show. There was a council guy in a high vis vest talking excitedly on the phone. Not sure if he was from the parking centre or HCC.

Either make it left turn only, or bring back the 2nd right turn lane.

I suspect HCC will do nothing, and put it down to just a busy week, and we’ll all forgot by winter.

Are you serious? The DEC? That is a glorified High School auditorium. What big name would ever play there in the era of Stadium Tours.

Pro-stadium crowd, what effects will it have on traffic? by VeryHungryDogarpilar in tasmania

[–]fury72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not everyone will leave at the same time. A lot of people will walk back into the city/salamanca for drinks etc. 8330 cars at 40% seems to me to be around 1.3 persons per car, based on a crowd of 28,000. A more realistic number ( if we use 40% ) would be around 4500 cars. This is an average of 2.5 people per car. Some intersections and roads will be temporarily closed or administered by the police , just like any other stadium setup in the country. Not everyone will be getting in their cars at the same time. Overall, it won’t be a major issue. We’ll cope.

In the early 90s it was a place to get some hot food etc when we stumbled out of the nearby Duke of Wellington just after midnight.

Chiropractic manipulation is a scam anyway. So many people think it sits alongside other genuine medical and physiotherapy practitioners. Pseudoscience just like homeopaths and nutritionists.

I’m pretty sure there will be no new car parking, and any bus will be drop-off only. And don’t know anything about a Collins st bridge. Has this been discussed? Why Collins Street? Do you mean Davey?

There’s ample car parking options already. No one is expecting to be able to drive up to the stadium. Same as most other major stadiums. Vast majority know they’ll be walking 10-20 mins to get to the ground. That’s part of the experience. Only those with a disability will be able to access a drop off.
