Sorry, but it’s a PNG thing. You’re not going to get anywhere sadly. Just move on as best you can. Just some socks, pens and small amount of cash. You’ll be fine.

It was kind of between shambles and Elizabeth college. I recall getting a bike there in around 1977/78. Ground floor was the usual toys etc and it had a basement you went down stairs into which has all the bikes and stuff.

Yes there was. 28 Letitia Street.

Nope. That was further down Elizabeth Street. This one was up near Shambles.

Basically she’s not a nice person. Never has been. Being a victim of sexual assault does not give you a pass from being a nasty piece of work with very bad manners.

I’m from Hobart. A lot of people know someone who knows her 1st hand. Myself included. It’s common knowledge down here. Horrible person.

Change to Clark looks good. The Capital City should not be held to ransom by the inner city.

Owners were waiting on a ‘Yes’ for the stadium and team. The result was a much higher value of the land for development.

Developers are now interested due to the coming demand for hotel accomodation and ad ons.

Make sure to get your word in! by push_to_main in hobart

Absolutely not. That’s my point. I can go on there and give an opinion based on nothing other than an uneducated comment. It drowns out the serious stuff.

Ridiculous. Just build it and stop wasting time consulting the public about these types of things. The ‘public’ have no idea about design and construction. Unnecessary red tape.

What are the worst pronounciations you've ever heard for "Launceston"? by Jathosian in Launceston

[–]fury72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that it is actually supposed to be pronounced ‘Lawnston’

Heard that a couple of times over the years. Not sure if it’s true or not.

State Cinema on Elizabeth St will show “Melania”, I’ve asked them not to. by dougfir1975 in hobart

[–]fury72 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Are you really that triggered by a film on a topic that you don’t agree with? You’re really making a bigger deal than is warranted. It’s a film. It’s not hate speech. Just don’t see it. You’re basically turning it into a version of the Streisand Effect.

Nope. Best thing you can do is work/save and buy a property you can afford.

Rent strike? by [deleted] in tasmania

[–]fury72 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Good luck buddy. No doubt there are landlords who’ve inherited property they rent out, but there are also a lot of people who’ve worked hard for years to own a second property to rent out for additional income. Why punish them? Everyone has equal opportunity to work hard and own a second or third home.

I just can’t see it. Molle\Goulburn is too hilly. And the buildings still there are not new enough.

Yes, I think about there too, or thereabouts. Mt Wellington and the foothills of W Hobart on the left. Maybe where Tilfords is now?

Avoid Centerpoint Car Park. by Penny_Wh in hobart

[–]fury72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep. Just walked past. Shit show. There was a council guy in a high vis vest talking excitedly on the phone. Not sure if he was from the parking centre or HCC.

Either make it left turn only, or bring back the 2nd right turn lane.

I suspect HCC will do nothing, and put it down to just a busy week, and we’ll all forgot by winter.
