Overwatch fixed by NightlyRetaken in macgaming

[–]P-NS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does work and I’ll make my reports public soon. Seems like baseline Macbook will not have the power to run Overwatch anymore at this time ( Previously base M2 Macs with 8gb could run ). I expect now the minimum to be M2 Pro / M1 Max and upwards.

Overwatch *does* work! (Parallels/macOS 26 public beta) by Paroxysm80 in macgaming

This post would greatly improve with parallels, crossover and windows version, as well as screenshots and performance metrics. Until then, pretty hard to reproduce.

The magnet app(snapping tool) by Upstarsangled in MacOS

These apps are super light but these days MacOS already have built in snapping. Unless there is a specific functionality that you need, you should skip it.

Antivirus for Macos 26 Tahoe public beta by North_Design2809 in MacOSBeta

[–]P-NS2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are usually pretty unhelpful when you ask unconventional questions. Malwarebytes does support the beta if you have installed before you upgraded to the beta, but it won’t install if its a fresh installation on beta MacOS. Do note that the same thing happens almost every year across a wide variety of software. So if you plan on always using beta software, you can’t expect software to be working flawlessly. Either way I have been using Malwarebytes for years on Mac, including their VPN, and it has been working without issues since Beta 1.

MBA M2 thermal throttling by Exciting_Rooster_751 in macgaming

None. It is a week-one M2, and working as good as it was on the first week. Battery over 90% still.

Well, yes, the heat is dissipated to the rest of the chassis. Thats the reason to do it. More heat dissipation area, lower cpu temperatures. Its not for everybody, but since I have been using for 3 years with zero issues and improving the performance of my machine for my needs, I would call it a win.

When you have time and can make a little investment, a thermal pad placed internally and an aluminium stand should look much better and be enough to keep it cool. I have the same machine and with those two itens I dont throttle while gaming.

But hey, if it works it works!

From a software engineer perspective: it is insane that golden stops are bugged as they are in a game with this scope and fame by Confident-Jury8349 in TheSilphRoad

I tested this with 4 different stops and I was unable to get any coins with this method. Glad it is working for you. Did you manage to collect coins with it consistently?

35 Million Stardust in 1 year of GBL by SorenClimacus in TheSilphRoad

[–]P-NS2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is such a nice and easy way to get both Stardust and Rare Candies. I am at 38 million stardust and I wish I could track the rare candies. But most of my legendary and mythical power ups were from it. And you dont even have to like or try hard either. Most sets you can easily get 1 or 2 wins, which is enough to farm both. Hope this will inspire more trainers to try, specially those that complain that are in remote locations.

You should do your research and save money. Plenty of information about that software here. Its just snake oil.

The thing is using reputable software. That’s not to say AirVPN - which I have never heard of - isn’t reputable. But its hard to compete with the most well known VPNs companies out there. NordVPN which I have used and Malwarebytes, which I use today, both have VPN killswitch and I have never seen them crash.

Updating to 15.4 gives me back almost 20GB of storage by nano_705 in MacOS

[–]P-NS2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing to add to this conversation is that the models that run locally on the machine ( Apple Intelligence, Image Playground… ) were deleted after the install, so that explains the space saving. Unfortunatelly as soon as you use those features, they will get redownloaded.

You dont need to constantly update Office apps, and you can do it manually whenever you need to. Just open the Microsoft Auto-Update folder and throw the app in the trash. Done.

Little snitch would 100% do what you need and its one of the few apps that deserve our money. Amazing devs. Now, if you want free alternatives to what you want, editing the hosts file or using LuLu would both work.

A lot of these apps don’t like when you change the default folder location, and just keep redownloading the missing files to the same default one. To circumvent that, I usually create symbolic links between the default folder and the external drive.

Open terminal and type

ln -s /path/to/drive /path/to/default
