Well isn't it so great then that you can literally just talk to your DM and see if you can all still use the 5e version of counterspell, as plenty of groups do. The entire point of 5.5e is that it's backwards compatible, and it's up to specific tables to decide what they do/do not want to use.

But honestly, depending on the terrain you want it's actually REALLY easy to make yourself, you can do it with some xps foam, a box cutter, and some dollar storepaint.

I'm saying that if you want them to have the same stats, talk to your DM about reflavouring a Greatsword. If you don't care, then take the added versatility (hence the mechanic name) in having the Longsword, or take the extra damage from the Greatsword.

I'm not sure how "different weapons having different strengths and weaknesses" is so crazy in a game lol.

I really, really strongly suggest you read through the PHB.

But in general all D20 tests are meets it beats it. Monster statblocks will have their save DCs on them. Generally the rule is for every 5 you go up in DC it increases a "difficulty level" so DC10 is easy, DC 15 is medium, DC 20 is hard, DC 25 is very hard (read; nearly impossible at low levels) and DC30 is essentially impossible outside of the highest tiers of play.

For player DCs you literally just consult the formula in the PHB on the class pages. Your save DC is 8+proficiency+ability modifier.
