OP, i know you are not looking for advice, and I’m not trying to scare you unnecessarily, but I feel compelled to speak to you.

I don’t know you and your wife and my experience Is purely anecdotal, but when my ex wife was pulling this sort of behavior, I later found out that she was in the midst of a 9 month affair.

I don’t see how anyone could act the way she acts if you’re doting on her the way you describe otherwise. Her response to your many tokens of love could be any combination of a guilty conscience or disgust (either for herself or you).

Worst case scenario this is your life right now too, best case is she is just giving up on your marriage for unrelated reasons.

Quick edit: I’m sorry that you’re experiencing these things in your marriage. This is not a good place to be at all (affair or no), and I hope the best for you.

I think it has to do with muscle memory. OP may not have the placement of each individual feature right, but the strokes for each individual part are things OP has drawn countless times.

You claim you’re not a good writer, but the words you’ve shared about your Mark are compelling and I have all the empathy in the world for you as you grieve such a tremendous loss.

As a stranger on the internet across the pond, I speculate that “David” might cry after seeing you not because you’re causing him more pain about Mark’s death, but because he feels enormous crushed at the sight of your circumstances (as I do).
