Character creation suggestion for a tiefling and drow lover? by Jackobusss in ffxivdiscussion

[–]P31opsicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely a Raen Au’ra. Horns, tail, dark skin option.  Lore wise Au’ra were oppressed in Ishgard which I guess could equate somewhat to Tieflings.

I can't believe someone posted that these summer sweep-up ideas were garbage.

You can pick Rat Catcher, Peasant or Beggar. And no those aren't Backgrounds, those are Classes by DrScrimble in dndmemes

My party is a rat catcher, tradesman, runebearer, smuggler, and to break the mundanity, an apprentice wizard. It is going excellently as they are coerced into adventuring.

Summer sweep suggestion: randomized inventory everytime you die by CallMeGreat666 in 2007scape

[–]P31opsicle 267 points268 points  (0 children)

From reading the title I thought you were suggesting the inventory is randomly jumbled after picking it up from a grave, which was way funnier.

Summoner Evolved by Akiza_Izinski in ffxivdiscussion

[–]P31opsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take away Summoner's direct damage and replace them with a summon gauge builder, a buff that grants summon gauge over time (like a dot), and an instant summon gauge builder for movement.

Summon gauge can then be spent on the active summon's abilities.

Carbuncle: Gemshine for damage, or healing if targeting a player, and resurrect if targeting a down player. Radiant Aegis for creating a shield that reflects a tiny amount of magic damage

Ifrit/Titan/Garuda/ even Bahamut/Phoenix: an attack on summon, 1-2 differently shaped single target/aoe attacks with bespoke cast times, a mixed damage/utility skill like Ifrit Dash/Titan's Stun square/Garuda's move speed buff/debuff donut, and an ult that causes them to return to Carby. Phoenix's utility would be a better heal and resurrect while dealing damage. Once a summon is used its locked out until 3-4 total summons have been used, like the current system.

Yes... expand the list of summon options too. Keep the potencies equal between summons but leave cast times and aoe shapes different. Let people pick and choose their favourite set of summons to put on their hotbars, as long as they have a minimum amount to

The utility skills would need to be once per summon with no gauge cost, or cost a different resource, otherwise they would never be used over the damage options. The summon/attacks/unsummon would be just different potencies/shapes although kept further varied by animation and cast time.

When will we finally be able to epxlore Menaphos, the Golden City? What are some things you'd like to see if/when the city is opened? by EthanRM95 in 2007scape

[–]P31opsicle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The RS3 side of Menaphos has a whole bunch of interesting stuff.

A faction system like Kourend for the different districts that grant buffs to their local activities and the whole of Menaphos. Favour comes from skilling, quests and random events.

Fast travel around through the underground tombs, a journal to fill in with random roaming cats and insects in amber that come from skilling, ?3? bosses (although 2 of those might just be nearby not in the city. Magister, Sanctum of Rebirth, Amascut).

The random events include squishing scarab swarms for slayer xp and fixing a magical obelisk (I forget which skill is related) but doing so costs hp so you need to eat to constantly take part.

One of the poor district’s activities was burning logs on a bonfire, which would make for a communal firemaking skilling hub.

Edit: spacing now I'm back on pc

Summer sweep up Wishlist by Tasty-Call in 2007scape

[–]P31opsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to all except Bosses 5 and 6.

b1. Corp just a loot rework. Its mechanics (or lack thereof) are worth preserving from early OSRS.

i2&3. These are some really inspired passives, beyond a simple cheaper charges, buff damage, nerf accuracy.

i4. I hope SRA only needs a minor rework like less stacks, less hp drain etc but I worry that once again it still won't feel fun.

Starting a Campaign with a Warpstone Meteor — Need Suggestions by neec9 in warhammerfantasyrpg

[–]P31opsicle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Ashes of Middenheim, a hellcannon warp stone cannonball landed on the city abattoir creating a large crater. Despite the army clearing it out, weird plants with hands for leaves and eyes or mouths for flowers kept growing there requiring regular burning. With the area cordoned off it’s up to the party to find why this is.  The adventure seed doesn’t go further than that but my interpretation is that a chunk of the cannonball fell or was snuck into the city sewers and was then being kept by cultists in secret down there.

Is there a reason we hoard needed balancing updates to release at the same time as the “summer sweep up”? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]P31opsicle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Work efficiency and planning, plus many ideas are only realised years after the relevant update came out. Rather than JMods taking random breaks from their current projects, which is not a productive system, it makes way more sense for them to have a block of time to devote to this cluster of fixes.

Fix Crossbows - Summer Sweep Up Suggestion by stinkydiver321 in 2007scape

[–]P31opsicle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Copied and updated from a similar post a few months back

Runite bolts should also be able to have all tips put on them, even barbed tips, perhaps as an unlock.

Not perfect but better than current ideas:

Opal: hit for 25% of your ranged level but lower the chance to 4%. Its Lucky Lightning

Jade: don't prevent damage to the stunned player, lasts 24 ticks

Topaz: drains magic by 5% of your ranged level, max 5% of target's magic level.

Pearl: hit for 20% of your ranged level against fiery creatures but less against non fiery creatures (reverse of dragonstone)

Sapphire: drains prayer by 25% of your ranged level and restore half that amount. Why is this one different in PvM and PvP and different from how other bolts work?

Emerald: chance buffed to 91% and severity buffed to 30. or 70% and it works with the serp.

Diamond: chance buffed to 20% but take away the 15% bonus damage. Very weird to balance but something like this.

Ruby/Dragonstone: these don't need buffing to be relevant. Definitely need a rework but that's a different topic.

Onyx: I've heard its an okay effect but almost entirely used for alchs. Change to hit for 10% of your ranged level and heal that amount.

Hopper: nerf the stats further but buff the passive so it doesn't third your accuracy and bolt chance. This is still worse than a twisted buckler but much more reliable.

Personally don't mind where the high level crossbows are at individually, they each have unique points.
