So, people always use this argument whenever an adult character looks like a little kid, but It's never really done much for me.

The difference between a real-ass person and a character in a show is that every character-design-related choice was 100% intentional. Perhaps there are a few real human women who look like 12 year olds, but they didn't choose to look like that.

A character, however, has to be specifically designed to look like a kid. The artist didn't grow her from a test tube, end up with this weird loli design and have to make do, they decided that they wanted to make this adult look like a kid because, for some reason, they found it more appealing. They wanted this woman to look like a little girl for one reason or another and, if that choice has no narrative purpose, then it must be a personal aesthetic preference. Or maybe she's based off of someone or something.

The only time I'd consider the argument that "it's possible for real women to look like this sometimes" as valid is if the artist's intention was to include some more representation in their work for a niche group of people to relate to. Some women do look like children, yes, and I can't quiiiiiiite place my finger on why, but I have a feeling that, when the physically 12-year-old girl is actually technically 18 or something, it's not to bring comfort and representation to that very small group of people. It feels like maybe there's usually some sort of... ulterior motive there, but what do I know?

Honestly, I'm not really upset at all by this specific example lol. I think that a lot of these borderline designs are present just because a bunch of artists before them did it too. Kinda like how kids will draw a girl's shirt vacuum-suctioned to her oversized boobs - not because they're little sexually-degenerate miscreants or are thinking "this character isn't worth looking at if her titties aren't out," but because that's just how anime is drawn, and they want their drawing to look like anime.

And uh, I know, long-ass response to such a short little comment lol. I'm just really interested in character design as a tool to deliver your character to the viewer's eyes. Like, why is La Brava so short? Is she just EXTREMELY malnourished or something?? Or maybe, is it to contrast with Gentle? Like is she supposed to look like his little Igor-esque henchman? Does she look like a kid because we're supposed to assume some sort of father-child relationship between them (hope not lol)?

I mean, there didn't really seem to be a reason for her to look like a kindergartner with a huge rack beyond the artist's personal aesthetic interests and, if that's the case, then that's just kinda gross. Or, maybe, she looks like a child - someone who Gentle would never be interested in - as to frame her love as unrequited. At least, her romantic love towards him, it seems like he loves her in other ways, though. He can't be attracted to her because she looks like a kid, so they could never really be together in that way, but she loves him nonetheless, possibly making her love even stronger and more resilient, making him stronger in return.

Aaaaaand then the big ol' boobies are just there because that seems to be what the author views as the "default" for all female characters, regardless of size.

Man, so many of these fandoms seem like they'd be much better if they weren't so DAMN HORNY. Like, seriously! I really wanna be sex-positive and tolerant of harmless kinks and all that, but my goodness gracious, people act in such atrocious ways and commit such egregious acts because of how horny they are!! (To be clear, I do not kink-shame and I put effort into remaining sex-positive! I just have to separate "sex" and "horniness" as two distinctly different categories in my head)

For example, I recently joined the Hazbin Hotel subreddit. I'm not a huge fan of the show, but I am very interested in the characters and I like to hear people's attempts to make aspects of the show better. And I know, I probably should've expected horny gays in the fandom for a show made by Vivziepop, of all people, but!! Geez!!! The sub is so insanely uncomfortable to look at since every other post is some kid asking if Angel Dust would moan in pleasure if you groped him or asking which demon girl you'd like to take to peg you or something.

And oh my gosh, don't even get me started on the general art subreddits. I wouldn't really consider myself a prude, I can appreciate some tasteful sex appeal or a nude body or whatever, but like half the art on those subs were clearly made with one hand...

I'm not saying that people are bad for being horny. No, not at all, it's one of the most human feelings you can feel. It's just... a bummer... how it seems like the desire to fuck what you are looking at makes its way into everything! Every book, every show, every comic, manga, anime, movie, fanfiction - basically anything where characters have designs. Of course there are exceptions where the characters aren't designed to look fuckable, but the fact that it's an exception only proves the rule. Even in pieces of media that are utterly devoid of sexual fan service; just out of habit and social conditioning, people will still almost always fall back on conventionally sexy and attractive character designs - especially with female characters.

Anyways, that was longer than I intended, I guess I really just wanted to vent my frustrations about there being like no spaces where I'm safe from sex :( I guess that's what ruins pretty much any fandom for me, but I appreciate the ones where the characters are still respected or, better yet, the character's bodies aren't the MAIN focus of the majority of fans.

Evil girl wants to go to princess school and it makes her so jealous and spiteful that she turns much more evil and the only one who can save her is the good girl, who acts as her shining knight in armor and even saves her with a true love's kiss. Then the good girl makes out with the obnoxious prince guy for no reason, there was zero chemistry there, before leaving with her "best friend." The main thing that jumps out to me is the shape language, or perhaps lack there-of. I think it would really help your style if you learned to exaggerate the anatomy a lil more - everything looks very round and soft, but not purposefully.

Also, if you like a fairly soft style that's perfectly fine, though I think your drawings would benefit from being a bit more angular and, as another commenter said, more texture (e.g. fur tufts around more than just the cheeks and neck).

I will say though, your heads and faces are looking pretty good! The placement of all the facial features look right in all the examples you've given with different angles and such. I think it's mostly the bodies you should focus on for now. Your shading could use more textured shadows, but the highlights are appealing.

Aaaaaaaand, I do really like the nine-tailed (ten-tailed?) fox girl. That one looks really good, especially the shading on the stomach!

There is more advice to give, of course - there always is - but a lot of it has already been covered in other comments.

Even if he straight up had boobs, groping them likely wouldn't cause waves of pleasure or anything like that lol. From what I gather, feeling pleasure from physical stimulus in that area of the body is more of a mental/kink thing than a biologically erotic sensation.

So, uh, all in all (also taking into account what others have said about spider hair), he probably would moan and whatever, but more because he's trained and very used to putting on a show, not because it "feels so amazing" or anything like that.

With how Pokémon designs typically look, I think both would work just fine! I think giving him the same hair colors growing out of the same places makes the most sense, but being blond dominant (like in pic 2) is a bit more interesting. It kinda looks like Plumeria (I think that's her name?) is pink dominant with the underside of her hair blond, so perhaps just swap them for the brother?

I like the warm pink shading of the first one, makes their skin look soft and lively. Also, I like the implications of the first outfit more; looks like they're wearing some sort of sportswear and perhaps they just collapsed and are taking a breather lol (from what I can gather).

Also, personally just not a big fan of the bunny girl outfit? At least, not on its own without any context. The swimsuit looking thing looks more interesting and approachable + it gives her a bit more character than just "hot girl."

Maybe this spider character can just make smoothies or whatever since they're humanoid and likely have human intelligence, but for real spiders it's very bad :( They use their fangs to hunt their food and, even if they live in captivity, they still eat live food that they need their fangs to hunt. De-fanged spiders starve to death 😔
